Now I'm wondering what to do with my flat sheet and four pillow cases. I can no longer get the same sheets, and of course I want my sheets and pillow cases to match. It seems so wasteful to throw away the flat sheets and pillow cases.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Call your local animal shelter and see if they could use them. Same with a vet's office that has a surgical area.

Use them as drop cloths when you paint.

Use them with a coordinating set - mix and match.
Otherwise, you'll never be able to use them.

I know you want your sheets to match but maybe if you have a white sheet set you can mix some white into it.
If all else fails keep the lights out.
Maybe others have better ideas.

How old is the set? I bought a set at Christmas and the elastic ripped out the first time I put them on the bed ...back they went.

I've never been in to "matchy-matchy".
Pick a color that coordinates with the flat sheet, and go with that.

Thanks for the suggestions, everybody. These sheets were over 3 years old.
