Oh no...how sad. I thought he did a great job selling Kenneth J. Lane jewelry...he will be missed. Does anyone know what happened?

Is he the rep for Kenneth Jay Lane?

I found out today that my dear friend, Barry Ort, has passed away unexpectedly. It is a huge shock to the many of us that love him. I was trying to think of how long I have known him, and realized it has been so many years and he was so eas...y to be with, that it feels like I have known him forever. We went to lunch recently and I enjoyed letting him do the talking and me doing more of the listening for a change. We talked about work a lot, as we both love it, but also about life, love, friends, family, broadway and everything else. He was always an adventure, always fun, always with another idea. I went places with him that I never would have gone without him. From unusual broadway shows to Inaugural Balls, and enjoyed every minute of it. What you saw with Barry is what you got. He was "true blue", did not have time for "airs" and wasn't too concerned with what other people thought of him. I can not believe he is gone. I loved and valued him very much. My greatest hope is that I was half as good a friend to him, as he was to me.

I take pleasure in my 'transformations'. I look quiet and consistent, but few know how many women there are in me.

LR posted on her facebook that he died unexpectedly, so they probably don't know the cause yet.

He was very knowledgeable about Mr. Lane's designs and his presentations were entertaining.

Removed due to initiation of "political discussions."

That is sad news indeed. My absolute favorite QVC guest. But his appearances were far too few. I always thought about him that he must be a very great friend to his acquaintances. He possessed a very sincere quality.

I just heard while watching the Q about Barry Ort. I was fortunate to meet him at an accessory event at the Q- he was a funny, wonderful man. We had a lovely conversation about jewelry (what else!)- and we laughed about a few things. I loved watching him as a guest and he represented Kenneth Jay Lane so well. I do hope his family knows how much people enjoyed watching him and his sense of style and humor. He will be missed on many shows. Many thoughts and prayers to his family.

I'm so sad about this news. Barry was my twitter friend, he often would ask what color sweater to wear on air & our reply was his choice. He was so down to earth and just a really really nice man. Genuine and loving. Gone to soon!! RIP buddy I will always remember you. My condolences to everyone mourning his death and to his family both QVC and his original.
