This FedEx-SmartPost shipping method

Is awful. Waiting for a final gift to arrive. Signed up for tracking updates via e mail. From the time it left the vendor I was getting updates twice a day as it moved from one FedEx facility to another. Last update was Tuesday when it left the closest large FedEx facility "In transit to local facility" with a destination of my Post Office. Since then nothing updated. What good does it do to get all these updates and then when the Post Office gets it it's like it fell off the face of the earth? I tried calling customer service at FedEx this AM and their customer service lines are so busy my call did not even get into the wait queue.
