In the past decade, I've had to just throw away products that I once thought were essential to my life. I just can't take the hassle of so many different products to get one job done. For example, I used to use Downy, Shout, Whitener, Detergent, Bounce-- all just to get my laundry done. Today, I just use detergent and call it day. My laundry is just as fresh and clean smelling. The same applies to facial products, makeup, hair. I've found that actually less is just right and that more is just overkill. I'm down to a cleanser/sunscreen/moisturizer for my face, eyeliner and gloss for makeup. This even applies to my vitamin intake. I was taking at least 7 supplements. Only to find out that too much of a good thing is actually a bad thing. I'm now down to an Omega-3 and D3 pill and if it's not in my food, I'm not taking it. This paring down to basics mindset has provided a somewhat increased sense of calm and control. Anyone else experiencing this need to cleanse as they've matured?
