Have you seen the new Swiffer commercials with the cute elderly couple, Lee & Morty?

I love them! Makes me laugh every time I see them.

I love it when he says "I wish they could make it easier" as he helps her climb the step-stool.... LOL They should start using more "real" people in commercials. I love this couple. Morty, Morty - are you listening????{#emotions_dlg.w00t}{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

I get a chuckle out of them too! It doesn't look as staged as most commercials often do and I think that's one reason for my fondness- That and no singing or dancing while they clean! Or angelic music because the mess is gone.

I love them! They remind me of our Grammy & Pappy. Two of the most wonderful people to have have graced this earth.

I say give them a series, not a reality show. It would be better than most of the junk of TV now.

They are cute, but don't count on them being just "regular" or "real" people. There are lots of character actors who still perform. Look at Betty White.

I thought I was the only one. Seeing an old man watch his wife struggle and complain that cleaning is too hard while he brags about just "Making dirt" grates on me. Just another sterotypical male. {#emotions_dlg.angry}

Thankfully, I am married to the anti-Mort who helps out around the house and shares with the chores. Keeps us both happy and active.

here's another that hates that commercial...i can't believe they would think this chauvinist, lazy pig letting his elderly wife do all the work is going to make me buy their product. can't stand it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand those commercials.

Love the commercials! And that "lazy pig" probably worked most of his life while she stayed home, and maybe does the yardwork. And some women just like doing the housework themselves.

I find them charming and it's cute.

I could have sworn on one of the commercials, I've seen two so far, she lists all the things Morty does and what she does around the house.

I don't see him as a "lazy pig" at all-

In one, he says he doesn't do any cleaning; in another, he says he does the laundry.

I have the same type marriage as Linders Back and totally don't get the whole "women's work" deal. It seems about 40 years outdated.

And that's why the three commercials I viewed don't bother me. If they had used a young couple and they guy said that he doesn't do any cleaning, I would have had had a different reaction.

Is there anything you people won't pick apart?

Not crazy about the commercials as, like others said, it is a totally different type of relationship than I am familiar with. It seems like a parody to me.

However, they are cute and obviously married (or remarried) late in life if they are that old and they have only been married 44 years. I wish them many more Swiffer filled years together. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

The thread title is "Lee & Morty on the Swiffer Commercials" so posters should feel free to voice their opinions either way. I'm sure Swiffer would be happy to know people are talking about the ads no matter what their opinions are as that's the whole point. Only saw the first one, and mute them now so maybe they are more appealing in subsequent editions (damage control maybe?)

Heading back to Paris now to watch the closing ceremonies with the light show and fireworks at the Tour De France.

I've known a few Lees and Mortys in my lifetime. I love the commercials.

Oh, so have I, RoughDraft. They are a bit of a stereotype, and I don't mean that as a negative.

{#emotions_dlg.lol} what are they? in their 90's? 80's at least. It's a sterotypical play on cleaning and new-fangled products. Lighten up!

....and the ad is working, because even you are watching and commenting...you'll see the products and remember.
