Hoffman Media to publish Paula Deen’s cookbook By Nicole Elliott, 7/3/2013 The company that publishes Paula Deen’s magazine will also publish her new cookbook. Hoffman Media began publishing Cooking With Paula Deen six times a year beginning in 2005. The magazine reaches approximately 350,000 readers. Hoffman Media is one of the few companies that still support Paula Deen. "In the eight years that we have collaborated with Ms. Deen, we have witnessed her consistent generosity toward numerous charities, from hunger relief and battered women to a Savannah-based orphanage, to name a few,” company Vice President Eric Hoffman said in a press release. Several corporations in addition to Random House have cancelled their contracts with Deen recently. “We noticed the opposite problem — readers said if we dropped the magazine they would cancel subscriptions to other magazines we publish,” Hoffman told New York Post. Fans have purchased several copies of her cookbook to show their support. Paula Deen’s New Testament was going to be published in October but may be delayed due to the change in publishers.

Makes perfect sense that the publisher of her magazine would pick up her cookbook. I'm sure that who those who enjoy her recipes and type of cooking will be very pleased.

That title seems like another example of the inclinations that got her into trouble in the first place. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

There's a former disgraced congressman running for mayor of NYC. Not sure what he lost for his "mistake".

He lost his position as a congressman, having no choice but to resign. So pretty much the same as Paula Deen losing the support from several companies.

He went on to make a hefty amount as a consultant. So good for him; right?

It's really to early to know what PD's future is at this point, but I wager she'll be just fine.

Well, it did go #1 on Amazon and sell out on pre-orders.....it's not like people don't want anything to do with it! It shows public support.

Paula will be fine... companies will start snatching hr up soon enough when they realize that there are a lot more people who will buy her items than won't... I never bought them myself (might have bought a spatula on sale at Ollie's once, not sure) but the same people who were her fans before will remain her fans. I don't think I've read anything here from a fan who dissented.... maybe there are some but I haven't any posts like that so far. Which means, the same people who bought her stuff before will still be the same people buying her stuff now.

More good news in store for Paula Deen in the coming days. The hatred and bullying of her has backfired on these companies.

That's good news for her. No one deserves the treatment she has received in the past ten days. chum

Judy Smith has taken over. No need for the agent at this point.

Apparently, PD's sales have skyrocketed.

I can see why her cookbook will be published. It's all about the money.

I wouldn't have bought it before, and I won't be buying it now.

I wouldn't buy her cookbook but I have 2 by her co -author Melissa Clark who helped write Paula Deen's Southern Cooking Bible and Paula Deen's The Deen Family Cookbook.

I have In the Kitchen with a Good Appetite and Cook This Now by Melissa Clark. Neither of Clark's books has a lot of illustrations but I like reading the stories she has with each recipe.

I've never bought a PD cookbook and still won't.

I do have a few of her recipes from her Food Network shows.

I really hope this does go to trial. I want to see it play out openly and legally.

And, then I want to see how everyone feels after the verdict.

If she loses, will her defenders still make excuses for her? If she wins, will she regain respect from those who feel she's done wrong?

I don't like to see feeding frenzies like the ones over the past few weeks, but Paula needs to be held accountable for whatever allegations turn out to be true. I have a feeling that a lot of soul- searching has been going on behind the scenes as well as much-needed restructuring of her business entities. Bubba needs some serious rehab and diversity training. I am happy that PD's cookbook will be picked up by another publisher as no one deserves to lose everything. This is a wake up call for PD and a wonderful opportunity to turn things around.

I'm looking forward to the cookbook, I've used a couple of her recipes before with terrific results.
