What's the latest on Jeffrey Hewson (former QVC host). My mother heard he had a stroke and died. Has anyone heard anything?

It's almost impossible to find out anything about him. Where did she hear that?

lol, I'd completely forgot about him. That whole deal with Judy was weird. I do hope what you heard isn't true. How old would he be now?

She read it online on some blog, of course. She wishes him good health and hopes he's OK, that's all. I told her not to put too much stock in what she reads online. But maybe someone around here has heard something and can update us on his status.

Oh, my goodness. I hope it isn't true. I sure enjoyed watching him. Very cheerful with a nice smile. Most everyone loved "Jeffreee", as they called him. I can visualize him right now. Such a nice host. What a shame, if it's true. I'll have to search in AZ.

Thanks, Annie. Here's something I found that was posted 10 months ago (online AOL)

Jeffrey Hewson, of QVC fame, experienced a fairly major bleeding stroke in Oct. 2010 and has been in physical rehab and assisted living since then in Mesa, AZ. He has issues with slow speech but is still totally conversant. His left eye "wanders" but that may clear up as time goes on. He walks fairly slowly and needs some guidance due to his vision issue. He is well taken care of and has friends within the stroke community who care about him.

I read where another Jeffrey Hewson had passed away, but read the same stroke info for the QVC JH.

Thanks, Jannabelle. It's just terrible that he had that stroke. It sounds like he has some people to look after him and that's good. I hope he hasn't passed.

I don't think so, when I googled his name a obit of another Jeffrey Hewson came up, it showed his picture, it wasm't the QVC guy.....but a stroke is bad. It was always odd that they made a huge deal of the wedding and then it seemed like it ended immediately.

Oh, OK. Thanks for clarifying.

Back when he had the stroke, a poster who had been following him updated everyone about his health and the fact that he was now in assisted living. I haven't heard an update since, so I hope he's doing okay. I never saw him on QVC as I became a member after he had left. He seems very young and at low risk to have a stroke (not overweight, etc.) but I guess it can happen to anyone. I hope he continues to improve.

And the guy she married who is now on Shopnbc was just like Jeffery. So full of himself.

He was one of my favorite hosts. What a fiasco with Judy Crowell. When he left QVC he had a website I followed, but then it disappeared.

It's too bad there is not still a place for updates and to send encouragement to him.

Wish there was a way to let him know that many of us think about him with fond memories. I can still see that smile. Maybe he is reading this thread. He should know that he had/has many friends across the country thinking of him. Blessings to you, Jeffrey.

I always loved watching him, even though I didn't purchase. He was easy on the eye & had a great sense of humor. I remember once he was telling a story about how someone had dusted his furniture to surprise him. His reaction? He told them that's MY dust, put it back!!!!

That whole Jeffrey/Judy situation was very strange indeed. Such an odd match to begin with.

I think he had two personas--one was the charming and charismatic personality many women saw when he was in front of the cameras. The other was a strange and possibly mean spirited personality when he was off camera. I say this because of what I read in Kathy Levine's book about the breakup between him and Judy.

He became very nasty towards Judy and some of her supporters. I seem to remember reading that when Mary Beth Rowe was on the air, he was in the wings making some sort of rude gestures towards her because he perceived her as being sympathetic towards Judy. Poor Mary Beth was very shaken up by it. Very creepy, if you ask me!

I remember his name being Jeffery, not Jeffrey. It was different than the normal Jeffrey and he always said "thanks for the Jeffery" when people would say it correctly.

That's what I originally wrote, but then, doubted myself and copied the O/P. . . . . It was 'Jeffery', after all. (Which is no big deal). I sure miss him.........hoping he is reading this thread and knows that many of us are always thinking of him.

Three syllables? I never heard him or anyone say it that way.
