I really like this show! Also love the wife, she really does come across as a strong woman. The actor playing the son is good, too.

Earl needs to watch his back after what he did to Rollo. Was there a new episode last nite?

There was. I think they replay them often, you might want to check the schedule for the History Channel.

Yikes, talk about a violent change of leadership, lol. Lagatha's child was fathered by Rollo......wait for it.

I was really happy to learn it was picked up for a second season! Tonight's episode hasn't aired here yet but it is set to record. Trying to juggle all the shows I want to watch on Sunday nights has become an art. I haven't watched this much TV in years!

nah. lagatha loves ragnar too much. Rollo is just a jealous guy (of his brother) and I don't think he loves anyone but his brother - it's a complicated relationship

Rollo is seeking to take the country from Ragnon...not a doubt in my mind.

B, no doubt Lagatha is all about Ragnar, but in the first eppy, maybe the second, it was insuinated that Rollo and Lagatha.....went there, lol. I was shocked that Rollo was involved with Siggy.

I think that Rollo wanted to be involved with Lagatha - but she refused him. I got the impression that he was after her, she has always refused him and they were never involved. Except in his dreams.

Rollo wasn't involved with Siggy - he misunderstood her when she warned him (remember, he was surprised that she was in the shed and stated that he knew she wanted him or something like that) and then he decided to proposition her to be his trophy wife or something.

I think there have been so many red herrings with Rollo - he has always been loyal to Ragnar. He is jealous of Ragnar, but he loves his brother.

If the series follows the legends that these men are based on, Rollo will conquer the northern part of the Frankish empire, and create Normandy. That is who this Rollo is based on - the real Rollo who was the first duke of Normandy.

Ragnar's death has already been foreshadowed (and it has nothing to do with Rollo) - if you know the story of the real Ragnar Lothbrok. I wonder if this series will hold true to the legends and myths of these two characters.

Interesting, perhaps I'm 'seeing' things, but before Siggy could say anything, Rollo was comfortable in kissing the reigning Earl's wife.

Oops, total apologies, I thought that since this episode was fairly 'old' it was ok to discuss. Forgive me, let us know your thoughts because it's still 'iffy' imho, lol.

Can someone explain why Ragnar wouldn't allow Siggy to light the pyre for her husband? That I didn't quite understand.

I just think he felt she didn't deserve that honor. I think if she offered to follow her husband to the afterlife, he would have allowed her to do so.

I wonder if we will ever find out who murdered the Earl/Siggy's sons.
