Anyone know of a good Downton Abbey chat room?

My sis was asking me if I know of a good site where her DH can find discussion of previous D.A. episodes. They're both hooked on the show, and he missed the one from a couple weeks ago. He thought there might be a discussion site where he could read some commentary about the various episodes. They lost their daughter to cancer a few years ago (in her mid-20s), and they were really moved by the Sybil story line, so that's why he was especially interested in what transpired as the family was coming to grips with their loss.

TIA!

Have you looked on Facebook?

No, I never even thought of Facebook! Thanks for that idea, Rainbows and Roses, but my sister and her DH aren't on FB.

Any other suggestions?

If they missed an episode they can view it online at PBS.org. I think they might also have a community there too. In addition check You Tube for behind the scenes videos. I also found a few videos of Maggie Smith delivering amusing lines as the Dowager Countess.

I think someone posted links on a previous thread about Downton Abbey, related books, related websites, etc. I'm not sure if I can find it, since there have been so many threads, but I'll look around. Perhaps someone else will know, in the meantime.

ETA: I can only find info about books and movies, but no chats. The Facebook page is very active, and you can read it without having a Facebook account (but you can't comment):

The season DVDs are available for purchasing. However, it is not necessary. I watched the first episode and didn't watch two seasons. I'm watching the third right now. It is easy to catch up. You could find summaries on the Internet. I could type a summary for you her, but some might get upset LOL

So sweet of you to offer a summary, Lilith, but I don't want you to go to all that trouble. I'm sure he'll be able to find what he's looking for via one of these other good suggestions here.

dooBdoo--I didn't realize you could read those FB posts without being a member...thanks for that!

haddon9--the dowager has some of the best lines, eh? I'll suggest he look on PBS and see if that episode is still on their website. My BIL and sister would probably like reading the community comments there, too.

Thank you, everyone!!

I highly recommend that anyone who's missed episodes to watch them. (They're available at most libraries.) There are numerous details you shouldn't miss!

TWOP forums are the best for all TV shows...IMO. I love it for Mad Men.

Hi, bluecat2 -- I've always liked the TWOP forums, too; but when I went to try to check it out last night, I got a warning that visiting the site "could damage your computer"! I haven't looked again today, but I'll give it another try. I assumed it was something about my specific computer's system (I have a MacBook)...it seems like it was a Google message, if I remember right. I've never gotten that warning before; but at any rate, it wasn't worth risking my computer for, so I skipped it! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

Just checked for the TWOP forums, and I'm still getting this message....

"Warning: visiting this site may harm your computer."

Huh. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

That is weird...I haven't been there in a while since Mad Men has been off for a while...hope they fix it because I really love reading over there.

bluecat2 -- did you check to see if you get the same message there, by any chance? I'm thinking maybe it's just my computer! I hadn't been there since the last Mad Men season, either.

I don't know anything about DA, but I was at twop last night with no problems.
