Gotta say if I get one more candle I will scream,lol!

I think we should have a 5 year ban on giving candles as gifts until everyone has used up their stash.Wink

How about a CD or book, a scarf or a bottle of wine?

You got that right! I'd rather get paper towels, Qtips, cat litter -- something I can use. No more candles!!!

I was watching a shopaholic show last night. One woman was addicted to shopping at the Dollar store, she could get 9 gifts for $10, tax included.

I think right now in my refrigerator there is a $10 BOX of wine. You're a big spender!

Go to knifecenter dot com and do a search for "folding scissors"... They carry the "Slip n Snip" folding scissors that are just the coolest things!

Made in the U.S.A. (and good quality), they cost $6.95 and I think the shipping is $3.

Everyone needs a pair of these! I love mine.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Do you really make wine? My late husband used to make it. Once we had a batch stored in the stone cellar of our old 1843 house and we heard POP, POP, POP while we were in bed one night. Dashed down the stairs and wine was spurting everywhere. It wasn't ready to bottle or something and the entire batch blew its corks. We laughed and just sat on the steps and watched the show. A mess to clean up but it smelled great down there forever. He was really a lot of fun.

20 stamps........so nice to have around the home. If you are giving to someone that can't get around a lot.......and you can put a note pad or something with it.......Dollar stores have pretty stationary with envelopes for $1.

Mink, no I don't make wine. I meant I make Sangria (just 5 more alcohols added to the purchased wine LOL.) Funny story - my husband and I would be laughing too hard to clean up, too.

Oh I see. Thanks. Sounds quite potent. And good {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Now that I think back maybe it was the fumes that were getting to us, we thought it was hilarious that our whitewashed basement walls were being sprayed with concord grape wine!

Once my husband made homemade beer and took it to a family reunion. His cousin (an adult, of course) drank a bottle and slept about 18 hours {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Everybody was hoping he was okay as the family was all law enforcement and nobody wanted to call it in. He said he felt great when he woke up.

Scratch off lottery tickets

Picture frames

Dunkin Donuts Gift Card

Paperweight

I like to give gifts that people will see every day, like a paperweight or a picture frame. If you put a photo inside the frame of you and the person you're giving it to, it's like a double gift.

Lots of great ideas on this thread.

Those are great ideas everyone. I especially like the picture frame one.

Christmas Tree Shops has a ton of things!

One of the nicest items I've bought is a photo frame tray - solid wood and glass- $7.99!

Scratch off lottery tickets are good unless the person does not believe in gambling.

But candles, scented stuff and cheap candy as well as ornaments - unless you definitely know a person's taste. So many are sensitive to scents and as for ornaments - many have their own idea of what ornaments they use. It does seem that a gift card is always a good idea - but to somewhere a person will use.

Lotions were always a popular gift for the nuns at Christmas time. Interesting how they still make the list.
