Why does HSN offer so many better deals than QVC does?

I'm not bashing QVC, but I really am curious about this. HSN's clearance items are usually much more reduced than QVC's. HSN offers free S&H on a lot of their items, and they have special days where you pay one low flat rate S&H no matter how much you buy in one department. Overall I think HSN's prices are much better than QVC's.

There are several things I would love to order from QVC right now, but they just don't offer any incentive to buy. Their S&H has gotten out of hand! If HSN can offer so many good deals, why can't QVC do the same?
