Have you seen the new Geico Possum commercial? The children want a puppy but the father finds them a possum instead.

It is sick. I feel sorry for the kids.

I think it's funny. I like when the father says, "There he is." While BBQing.

I love that commercial.

I feel for the oppossum and any in the future that people will capture just because they think it would be 'cute or fun' to have one. People are very suggestable and then an animals or animals suffer because of it. An opposum will defend itself as it is a wild animal and not very good at being domesticated.

It is an ad! It is to make a humerous point that second best doesn't meet needs.

Geico must have some of the best ad-writers out there. Most of their ads are so funny.

If anyone hears that hiss and is determined to capture one and have it for fun, they deserve what they get.

I won't be surprised if Geico superimposes "do not try this at home" over this ad in the future.

I haven't seen the commercial, but would like to. Their commercials are always funny.

I don't think the future of the opposum is in danger lol, who in their right mind would want one for a pet.

I like (most) commercials the first couple of times I see them.

I think there should be a law about how many times a commercial should run...

Or maybe a law about how much time my tv is on????

(just kidding)

I agree, especially about a local commercial that runs constantly.

One commercial gets my attention every time, though. There is no sound, no talking, no music. Written message is scrolling from bottom to top on the screen. Most of the time that my TV is on, I'm doing other things and listening instead of watching. When it goes to that total silence, I look! I think it's very clever.

Possums do attack people if they think you are invading their territory, and if you are wearing red. You guys saw a funny. I saw a non caring Dad whose children wanted a dog, giving them a possum. No big deal. I just didn't think it funny. Calling me disfunctional Maggie is over the top even for you. {#emotions_dlg.angry}

There are protective laws for these little animals. This is just a commercial, for goodness sake. Smile

Opossums are smarter than dogs and more on the level with pigs. They might play possum from 4 minutes-4 hours. They go on their honeymoon and have babies 14 days later while father skips town and although they can distinguish colors, red is not known to make them attack any more than another color.

There's a silent one here. It doesn't scroll, the screen changes. And so does my channel. The first time...okay. After that...I'm not interested.
