Can you return multiple items in one box without hassle & confusion?

Started 1298012926.54 in Viewpoints | Last reply 1298231165.787 by blahblahvampemerblah

I want to return 2 shirts and a ring in the same box and pay the shipping myself. Will this confuse them? Will I get credit for each item and not be charged $6.95 per item?

I'd appreciate any help. I wasn't sure where to put this.

If you can't make both ends meet, make one end potatoes.

I have done this many times, but only if they went to the same destination. In your case because the items are clothing and jewelry, the items would go to different addresses.

If she has proof of delivery, they should give her a credit. QVC may want insurance, but the USPS won't pay if your delivery confirmation says it arrived. I only go with DC and skip the insurance for this reason.

I just returned three jewelry items in one box, and I put the return label for one of them (the one where I pay the postage) with the bar codes from the other labels. They went into one bag that said "3 items," and I got a credit on all three easily enough. I've never had an issue doing this, but as someone said, they HAVE to be going to the same destination.

Yeah, FINALLY!!!!! Run Trey, run!

I have done this many times without a problem.

If they both go to the same address, then yes. I don't use QVC's return labels. I make my own & add delivery confirmation. So far, no problems. All the returns have credited correctly.

Maybe, but I never take the chance. Guess I'm just lazy, I don't want the anxiety of worrying about it when something goes wrong.

Oh, no! I just wrapped 2 items together to ship and forgot to check to see if they were to go to the same address. I forgot about that.

$6.95 for one bra is wayyyyy too much, IMHO, so I put it in with a sweater that was defective. Actually, the sweater should have been returned at no cost to me, but since the bra was being returned, I put them together.

If the items are going to the same address, you can do it. If you think there is confusion, add a note. Sometimes, I am returning A, B, and C; but I want to exchange D & E. So, I write a note. If not, everything gets returned and I never get the exchange done.

Sometimes, you need to paint a picture, step by step.

Never had a problem.

Jewelry goes to a totally different place than clothing items. If you look at the QVC website, it will tell you where to mail the different items you want to return.

I write multiple items on the box near the code they scan and put a big note that is visible when they first open the box.

And only do this as others have said if the items are going to the same address.

ONLY if theyv are the same type item going to the same address. I use painters tape to attach each return label to the actual item.

When I did a mixed box (jewelry & clothes) it took for ever for the returns to be processed.

I did once and only got credit for one of them. I never was able to get back my money because I didn't insure the item.

I had a similar experience sending two items back. I am still trying to get credit for one of the items and wouldn't you know it was the more expensive of the two.

this is why i use their label, it's worth it, esp if you're including two

both channels have been very good about ''finding'' the return when i e-mail them about it

i always write all the numbers down on the pack slip

i would email them any way, say the sweater is defective and ask for a return fee waiver - why not?

i do that all the time, but am very clear about what it is, and I too have tried to point out what's wrong with an item, so I am reimbursed for S&H. What is just a question of not liking something, they do not reimburse you, even if you put it in one box.

If i return something per USPS I make sure it is properly insured, just in case something happened.

Good luck....

No, it can be a nightmare. I use the return label, mark what's wrong, call cust. service with what is "wrong" with item, and no cost to return.

Their return practices are utter b*s. I shopped with them quite a bit over the last year but after recieving one substandard item after another, always for a premium price, I am so done with Q. Charging for returns and their outrageous shipping charges just makes shopping here nuts. Fact is, you can find much better prices and quality products elsewhere.

DC does not guarantee the package will arrive. It is just. Way for you to confirm it does arrive. I had dc on an item with no insurance and qvc said they never got it. USPS could not confirm delivery. I would get ins and skip dc. I have sent multiple orders in one box for return and have had no trouble but I always insure it. It is still cheaper than using qvc's labels. Betty

I do it all the time, get as many return items in one package as I can. They must be going to the same address and make your own label, not their pre-printed one as it has bar codes on it for only one item. It will be scanned, not opened until later and you may have a problem getting credit for all your items. When you make your own label, they have to open the package and then you'll get the proper credit. I only use their pre-printed lablel when I know it will cost more than $6.95 to return an item. The last item I returned only cost me $3.75 including insurance. If you don't want to insure it, you can save even more! Hope this helps! It works for me! QVC really rips us off with the shipping charges, the "other" shopping channel is so much better than Q for shipping!

Thanks so much everyone. So glad I asked. Smile

Dumb question -what numbers are you writing on the packing slip?

JMO but I would send clothing and jewelry in the same package. Do they even go to the same address ?? You KNOW they might miss the jewelry if it slips out when they pull the clothing, or it could stay in the package and get missed. At least that would be MY luck !!!
