Did Anybody See Dateline on NBC Last Night?

I watched most of the 2 hour show last night, but fell asleep 15 minutes before it was over! Could anybody tell me if they found the older son guilty of murdering his parents?

He was found not quilty. It only took the jury 1 hr. to make their decision. They said there wasn't any evidence to prove that he did it!

I'm wondering the same thing, as I also fell asleep! I hate when I do that! I wouldn't mind it so much if I'd stay asleep for the rest of the night, but I ended up waking up shortly after Dateline ended, and I was awake for hours! UGH!

I hope someone has the answer for us.

Wow! I thought for sure he would be found guilty!

no way.. he waited hours to tell his wife , he kept working, he had issues with them and he admitted he may have killed them... how can he be loose?

It was a very weak case, IMO, don't really know how it got to court ........... no evidence!

That was a tough one. In this case, I can understand why the jury voted not guilty. There was no evidence other that the son's odd behavior. If he hadn't made that comment about maybe he did it and didn't remember, I don't think he would have been charged.

Juries have acquitted with a lot more evidence than was offered here. I hate to think that he got away with murder, but if there's no proof, then that's the way it is.

I, too, fell asleep about 30 minutes before the end.

I wonder what his wife thinks/knows. Like did she think he was acting strangely that night when he came home? She said he went to sleep, maybe he took some of those vicodins & passed out. And I wonder if they'll ever find that doorstop & the knives.

I'm glad to know I wasn't alone in falling asleep towards the end of it. lol.

Wow, not guilty. I thought for sure he would be found guilty. His behavior was way too bizaare. It didn't even fall into the realm of "everybody handles shock and grief differently". This guy seemed pretty off. I figure it was the drugs. He probably has blackouts, or something on that order.

Sue98, I know what you mean. Last night was just a bad night for me. I'd planned to watch TV. Two shows of Monk, and Dateline.

Watched 1st Monk. Fell asleep and missed the ending.

Woke up.

Watched Dateline. Fell asleep again and missed the ending.

Woke up again and watched the 2nd Monk. Fell asleep and missed the ending!!!!!!!!!

Friday eve is my night to watch TV. I obviously was too tired to enjoy it.

I was wondering why the police didn't search the olders son's house he was restoring? If he did do it he could have put the murder weapon in a wall and sheetrocked over it. They never mentioned searching that house.

he admitted he was addicted to vicodin and that can raise your temper and didnt he have money issues with the father?

But despite that it was all he did after the killings, he stayed at work and then he went to check on his empty house, he waited to tell his wife about the murders, plus as a butcher they said that gave him some kind of skill or advantage?

He failed the polygragh and then said maybe I did do it??

Sometimes they have to go with more than hardcore physical evidence.

Tipsy, I'm wondering the same things.

I can understand him keeping the business open for the day. Sometimes that's necessary.

But, you would have thought he'd have had some sort of reaction, rushing around trying to

make sure people would cover the store, while he went to his parents' house, or to tell his wife, etc. No one acts the way he did. No one. jmo

Those poor parents the wife was in the middle of eating a cookie,,

I hope they dont give up on this one, those poor people wanted justice, they tried to write the killers name in thier own blood,

He didn't even tell his sister who was working with him that day. I'm sure his employees could handle the shop. His behavior was bizarre - I really thought he would be found guilty.

I am also surprised that the case went to trial with virtually no evidence against him.

The jury had no other option than finding him not guilty.

I found it bizarre that the killer left absolutely no clues behind. Very strange.

Is it any wonder that there are many innocent people in prison serving time for crimes they did not commit if the posters here are representative of those on juries?

His brother, who knew him better than anyone, was absolute sure he didn't do it. There was no evidence against him. None.

His behavior may not be what other's expect, but a guilty person would put on an act, as Susan Smith did, because it's expected.

Let me share, when I was told that my father had died, I went into the kitchen and baked cookies, unlike some on the BB who can't wait to post bad news, I couldn't bring myself to tell anyone.

Had my father not died of natural causes, I would probably be serving time for my bizarre behavior.

Yes, the older son did exhibit odd and insensitive behavior after finding out about the murder of his parents BUT this wasn't good enough reason to convict him. Just because we have negative feelings about a person, would we want to convict someone based on feelings rather than facts and evidence?

"How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong, because someday in your life you will have been all of these."

What about the friend who was the last person to see them? Did they investigate him?

He said that they asked him to stay for pizza which he declined but if you noticed the pizza was on the counter in the kitchen and didn't look like much of it was missing. The parents were neatness obsessed so if the pizza was left over, it would have been put away.

Odd too, that he came up with the possible murder weapon and even made a replica of it, or was it really a replica?

Mafia I bet and bet he had connection to them. Yep, I thought about friend also. It was a weak story. They never showed daughter much at all or even investigater her.

Also did they spray luminol over the word to see if anything else showed up?

Also if there was a clean up, why was the writting in blood still there. If it wasn't so sad, it sounds like one of the reality shows where they stage stuff.
