I thought Marty had died already and his family was the family that Jacob befriended.

..............Yep, I thought the same thing!! When the Dr examined him with his shirt off, there was no hole! Was it there when he examined himself in the mirror? I thought the show was AMAZING!!! Can't wait for the next episode!

you're right there was no hole, I for one am so glad this show is back.

This show keeps me on the edge of my seat. And no gore, thank goodness.

I believe Marty is the child of that family, yes. However I think he survived the flood that took the lives of his mother, father and sister since he was described as being a boy with that birthmark.
