That's a pretty necklace, but its money down the drain if it tarnishes beyond repair.

Sadly, I think they haven't. They have already figured out what their market will bear.

I have not been enticed by either bronze or rose gold; I can't imagine that either of those metals is neutral enough to go with a lot of gemstones; I don't think garnet, for example, would look good set in rose or bronze.

I bet this necklace did not cost even $15 to manufacture.

Rose gold is my favorite and I have a garnet in rose gold that is beautiful. I do admit that I am biased. Rose gold is wonderful with morganite, amethyst, pearls, and many other gemstones. I am looking forward to the bronzo pieces that I preordered.

As long as people keep buying they will keep selling over priced items...I am about done w/this shopping network. More & more I find myself checking out HSN. Don't even check the Q program guide anymore.

I can't believe they are trying to market bronze as something valuable and to be prized. It's junk metal. When I saw this line the saying "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" immediately sprang to mind.

Copper and tin. I mean, really.

Yup, copper and tin!

And people are expecting it not to tarnish...{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Any anti-tarnish 'coating' or 'plating' WILL wear off eventually.

I'm afraid it is a sign of the times. If consumers actually pay these inflated prices for non-precious metal jewelry, they will continue to sell it AND continue to raise the price. They will raise the price and continue to offer this type of item until the consumers stop buying.

I stopped several years ago. The last thing I bought from the Q was a cookbook and that was over 2 years ago.

I don't miss it at all. My wallet is a lot happier, too.

I think you're right on about this.

LOL you have gotten through to me. I ordered J269033 earrings just have some inexpensive rose gold hoops without thinking much about what I had ordered. They are so puffed up and all I could think was 'what have I gone and done'; this is exactly what you have been talking about. Back to QVC they went this morning.

Every time I see these bronze shows listed I can't help but think of all the bronze vases being stolen from cemeteries. Now I know why!

Only not educated public can be riped off like this. People who knows their jewelry will be always looking for the best deals , no matter what they buy - costume or gold and diamonds.

I'm pretty much done with buying expensive jewelry for myself (not that $164 is expensive) but it is something to give some thought to. I have more jewelry than I need already and now that I'm retired, most of it just sits in the jewelry box anyway. I'll occasionally spluge on a Carolyn Pollack or a Michael Dawkins piece but other than that, I pass everything else by.

Hubby can (and does) gift me with things for my birthday and Christmas or a special piece while we're on vacation, and I'm grateful, but how much jewelry does one girl need.

My daughter just turned 40 in July and every year since she turned 21 I've given her a piece of my own jewelry along with her other gifts. This year I gave her a Judith Ripka Amethyst Key enhancer to go with a JR necklace I gave her last year. Nothing gives me greater joy than seeing her wear things that I once enjoyed and seeing her enjoying them now.

If they sell it, we will buy it... or at least some of us will. That's what they count on! I have never particularly liked rose gold and yet I find myself looking at this stuff and liking some of it... Go figure. I actually ordered the watch and am now contemplating whether or not I really want a bronze watch that, per them, looks like rose gold...!!

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice and I should have my head examined...

I do think the necklace is pretty but there IS NO WAY it's worth even close to what they're asking for it. It would be overpriced at HALF that amount. Bronze is scrap metal. No matter how they try to dress it up, it is what it is. That necklace should retail for no more than $60 and at that, they'd be making a huge profit.

I'm still waiting for QVC to release their brass line. "Brasso" the new gold! {#emotions_dlg.lol}

There are two bronze watches being sold on ebay for five figures. It's not the metal, it's the design you're paying for. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

That may be the type of bronze that tiffanys is selling, which is a gold, silver, bronze mix.

That necklace may be pretty, but it's made out of junk metal and even at $30, they would make a profit. It probably cost about $10 to make, metals, design and labor included.

I am not buying any of the Bronzo line because I still have not been able to get definite info about the true contents of the bronze-colored metal they are selliing in this new line. Plated, not plated, etc. has been said when presented on TV. I would never pay $164 for a plated necklace no matter what metal it is. If it needs to be plated...it isn't quality IMO

bronze will always be bronze,not gold , not rose gold, never yellow gold.. in fact, it has always been bery reasonable in cost..
