Spirithorses, several of us sent prayers and hugs to you and Kody last night, but as you predicted, the thread got poofed (probably because you included a phone number--you were only trying to help others). Please let us know how your darling Kody is doing. I hope he is stronger and healthier by the time you read this. As I wrote last night, I remember some of your beautiful posts to those of us who have lost our furbabies. Many of us share your deep love of animals and are waiting for good news about Kody! Nancy

Spirithorses left a post Sunday night that her sweet Kody had had surgery and asked for our prayers. In Loving Memory of my Dear Sweet Bubba...Nov. 21, 2011 spirithorses1342059670.33464 PostsRegistered 10/12/2007Pacific Northwest Thanks so much to all of you. And your prayers are so welcome and needed. I have been rather spent. I broke a bone in my leg May 26th and limped around (had to rent a car - the two I have are both standard shift.) I notice Kody was not interested in coming upstairs to sleep and took him to the Vet. He had cylist in his chest cavity. We drained it but we were draining 1 liter each time. I took Kody to a specialized clinic and the diagnosis was confirmed...not cancer, but it is cylist infusion (sorry for my spelling) maybe a result of the trama of the other surgery. When we were draining one day, Kody had a problem - a lung had been punctured during the draining process and he needed emergency lung surgery to close the tear. There were 6 people working on him. I left as the vet was prepping for surgery and that dear soul looked at me. He came through like a trooper!!! His cylist surgery was a week after the lung surgery and two weeks ago - we are still draining. To defer some of the cost I have been cleaning house - I have sold a vintage Gold Rolex that I had not worn for 20 years, my old engagement ring (a freeing experience - I'm divorced), sold a vintage Hasselblad camera for practically nothing because it had not been used for more than 10 years (shutters need to be worked). I have a 200 year old 4-poster bed I have been storing for 20 years and a vintage secretary I want to move to another loving home. It is time to sell it but I am afraid of C's List. Kody is uncomfortable but his spirits are super. I have been taking him to the vet's while I'm at work and he walks in like he owns the place ( he already owns me). I am not on line very often but I will check in with you all. My love and gratitude go out to you all. Blessings. Last edited on 7/11/2012 Last edited on 7/11/2012 "Dogs are our link to paradise. So, again, wishing a speedy recovery and that everything works out for both. Pug spirithorses1342148120.777464 PostsRegistered 10/12/2007Pacific Northwest I just came back from a visit to SVS clinic. The drainage should be no more than 26-33 MLS per day and his tube is yielding 26-41 every 4 hours. We will be doing another surgery next Thursday. There will be two incisions. Not doing a surgery would significantly limit his life span - I have been worried ...as usual. Last night he was licking me all over, even though he licks people, he does not lick me very often. This time I got: "It's OK MOM." What ever decision I made he would be happy with it. These fur babies are wise beyond our years. I have a good team as Donna, the anesthesiologist told me: I have Team Kody at SVS. And I have Team Kody at my local Vet - Kody is in great hands. When we walked into the clinic today, it was "Hi Kody". Everyday I thank God that I have been given the means to do his medical. Got to tell you - my EQ is in the can. I cry at the drop of a hat. At work today, I did NOTHING important. I was on the phone to someone at the Central Office and started blubbering when I was explaining why I had not submitted a request for a project....she is praying too. Again, thanks for all the prayers. I know Perfect Health is our (all of ours) birthright. Our fur babies are our gift from God. With prayer all things are possible. I am praying that he will be well on the road to recovery and that hopefully by the time you read this that he will be done with all his surgeries. It is very stressful and heart wrenching when one of our furbabies has health issues. Unfortunately my dear little boy, Kobe has had his share, and I feel terrible when he is sick, I hate to see him uncomfotabe or miserable. And I agree with you, I would sell everything to get my furbabies the healthcare that they need. Nothing is too much or too good for my little Japanese Chins, and I can tell you feel the same towards your beloved Kody. They mean that much. Mine are literally my life. I am praying that your furbaby Kody will be back to health once again. And that all he has gone through is a distant memory. All the best, take care, hugs.Last edited on 7/17/2012 che1342642773.3711254 PostsRegistered 2/7/2009seattle, Wa. On 7/16/2012 spirithorses said: Thanks so much for all the prayers.
