I personally usually prefer to match my metals -- but you don't have to every time. I do all of the time. Usually I'll have on one item (usually a bracelet) that has 2 metals in the design, then I mix them. My daughter, on the other hand says it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to see mixed metals. Hummmmm a bit drastic!
