Yikes! {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

Friendships between two women who are intouch with their inner b*tches are so much more meaningful than friendships based on toxic niceness.

Soon you'll be told:

A. That people can post anything they want, anywhere they want.

B. The title clearly states what the thread is about, if you're not interested, don't open it.

C. People post where they're most comfortable

D. There's no rule in Community Standards anymore about where you post a topic.

That's the way these type of posts always go.

It is the same reason that people put complaints on the beauty board instead of "Q did What"

I don't get it either. To me the "beauty" board means just that. Instead we see titles about a family member having surgery, pray for me, or a dog died. I just skip over those because I'm here for the beauty discussions. I think some people think since this is such a popular place, they will get more responses. Maybe a new group should be established for personal discussions. Still, some will still post it here. That's their prerogative.

Well, KarenK, it makes sense to me but some may post now out of spite. Let's hope not. I guess I am tried of hearing about it too. He is on various tv stations throughout the day/night. Enough is enough. What I have noticed is you are never told about using the product and that you have to use cool water. I purchased it once and when I read the directions, I returned it immediately. Between the pumping and the cool water, I cannot be bothered. I live in the Midwest, who wants to use cool water in winter? No thanks. So Wen fans, pump and chill until your heart's content.

On many other message boards, the moderators move threads to more appropriate sections. It'd probably be a full time job for someone on QVC {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

QVC doesn't even monitor this BB, they pay an outside company to moderate it.

Could be they thought they were in WEN, since it's a sub-category of Beauty? And maybe people only go to the Beauty board and so feel they have made friends here...and feel that asking for prayers or talking about their pets or kids under the "wrong" forum is okay because they're posting to "friends". Sometimes people don't feel "rules" apply to them. Sometimes people simply don't sweat the small stuff. Lots of reasons why people do what they do. Makes life kind of interesting for some...annoying for others.

I agree it is kind of misleading how Chaz says "I'm not asking you to do anything but what you already do with shampoo and conditioner" (i.e., two cleanses). Wen is DEFINITELY more difficult and time-consuming to use than regular shampoo and conditioner, yet they never tell you that in the presentations. That is one of my bigger gripes about the product.

Still, I love Wen, and have found it is really worth the extra time and effort, because my hair looks SO much better. You don't have to use cool water, by the way. I never do. The cool water is only an extra safeguard for color-treated hair, for people who are really serious about keeping their color for months and months.

Really? How many posts do you contribute to and write that are off topic? At least Wen is beauty related and technically is or should be an allowed topic here. It is all the other topics that have nothing to do with beauty that are offensive!!!! Nobody should have to read "please pray for me" on a beauty board!! Not everyone is religious or believes in prayer, and it is down right offensive to push those topics in a place for light conversation of beauty products.

Dead animals, missing children, poisoned pet food, cheating husbands, celebrity gossip (realloislane) and all the other junk is what is annoying!!! And don't bother telling me to skip it. The topics generate enough disgust and thoughts alone. It puts a damper on the whole experience, whether you read it or not. And skipping it isn't the point.

yet this is the 2nd wen thread you've started on beauty banter in 2 days?!! and you post on the wen threads in beauty banter? If you're so sick of hearing about wen why continue to post on threads that are clearly "wen" threads???

Seriously, I think that people post about WEN here rather than the WEN board because they want to trick you into starting a WEN thread. I don't know how else to explain why you would start a thread about a topic you were sick of on the board that you think it should not be posted on. I think it is definitely a jedi mind trick.

The majority of Wen threads I've seen are started by non-Wen users...this one included.

I enjoy reading about Wen even though I wouldn't go to the Wen forum.

At least Wen belongs in beauty banter unlike many OT posts.

That's because all of the above is true.

And there is much more "traffic" on Beauty Banter than on the specialty boards, so a thread is likely to get more responses here.

Considering how many threads there used to be saying that Wen simply had to have its own exclusive site, that's a fair question.

Why should the subject of WEN be treated any differently than say...Philosophy, Laura Geller, Bare Minerals, Mally, Perricone, etc., etc., etc.? They also have their own forums. This a beauty forum, it's all beauty related. I don't use some of the brands listed on the Beauty Forum, but I do enjoy reading the threads.

A reason why many of these brands are asked about here in the Beauty Forum may be due to the fact the threads moves faster, more are viewing this particlar board and answers are given quicker to questions asked.

We just need to skip over those threads that don't interest us. Life is too short to be upset about what is posted where, in my opinion.

I tried being patient but it took too long.

Honestly, I think it isn't a big deal to have some WEN questions in Beauty Banter. Especially the more general WEN questions. The more specific ones should probably go in the WEN forum.

As others have said, it is Beauty Banter. If we were to restrict any threads about BareMinerals, Laura Geller, Mally, Perricone, Philosophy, or WEN to their respective forums, we'd have a far less comprehensive and useful discussion going on here.

I don't like the wildly off-topic posts myself, especially when they aren't labeled O/T. They do tend to get me down and ruin my effort to relax. I think most people who post them have the best of intentions. They see Beauty Banter as their "community," so they want to share these things here, not in Viewpoints or Among Friends or whatever. Also, these posts seem to be getting more rare since we had the big O/T drama, so I'm not complaining.

I agree with what you and TunedIn have said. I want to relax and have fun, beauty related conversations. A nice escape from the stresses of the world. I used to belong to another online forum that was made to be lighthearted. But some people would write posts about gruesome news stories. Not only in the posts, but it was in the title for all to see. So you didn't even have the option of ignoring the thread. It was right in your face.

It's a forum/ community board not a discussion about a cure for cancer- so take a chill pill!!!! Cool
