I know people who have been driven batty by overused expressions like "yada, yada, yada" and "at the end of the day". Those never really got under my skin, but there's a new one coming up the pike and a couple of the hosts are using it. I know it's petty and I have bigger things to worry about, but I cringed this morning when I heard Rachel say, "a little sump'm sump'm". "Just sayin'" !

He pronounces chicken "shicken" and I would like to strangle him. lol However, I have noticed I def like to say def as often as I can slip it into the convo. :) With hope and heart, Kathleen ♥ ♥ ♥

My husband still has a strong NY accent after 12 years on the west coast, but one word he pronounces incorrectly that I can't blame on NY is "pitcher" - not the kind you pour lemonade out of, the kind you hang on the wall. I don't correct him, he knows the difference, I'm not sure why he does it but it makes me twitch !
Beebo1338823516.356930 PostsRegistered 4/13/2010 It is too bad that hosts do not realize that any word or expression used way too often gets really annoying. My current least favorite is "on the day". Seemed like it originally came from Shawn but I am noticing that many hosts are using it now. I had never heard "on the day" before...thought it was "for the day". luvmypupz1338823581.2874430 PostsRegistered 8/30/2010By the Sea Shore Speaking of things our DH say that drive us nuts, DH calls the bank teller - bank "taylor", a hill is a "heel", licorice is "lickquish". Theres a few more I can't think of right now. Billy Joel's Just The Way You Are There's so much they say now that annoys me, I hardly ever watch -- or at least I mute them a great deal of the time. I can't stand when they say "gorge." I hate it when Shawn is so busy that she can't even say the word spandex -- it has to be "span." Geez. On 6/4/2012 morning lover said: It seems like the OP is watching way too much QVC. And let me say in the OP's defense, you absolutely don't have to watch "too much QVC" to hear this cr*p. I really don't watch nearly as much as I used to, but it only takes one little flip to the channel for a minute or two to hear the ridiculous way so many of them speak now. Watching the Monday and Friday morning fashion shows I don't think is watching too much QVC. And you'll get your fill of these over used phrases. I used to be really slow to pick up what you might call "slang" words or phrases. I actually remember being a little girl around 5 and I didn't like to say "hi", I preferred "hello", so that tells you how stiff I basically am by nature. Anyway, it's pretty sad when you hear yourself pick up some of these phrases. A while back I heard myself say "whatever" and "it is what it is" frequently, and I thought "what's happening to me?" I'll shoot myself is I start saying "on the day" or "yada yada". On 6/4/2012 Rock_chick said: My husband says a couple things that irritate me to no end.
