Olea europaea can be found in many of your present-day formulations. katkitty1335371603.694067 PostsRegistered 12/12/2007 It's in many products but I wouldn't just use straight up evoo & smear it on myself as a moisturizer. Some do, I guess. It's just too greasy for me. I break out when I use it on my face in most capacities. I do use it in a home made sugar scrub for my face, but I don't use it daily and I need to wash off the oil residue afterwards or I will break out then too. WoW1335371807.821526 PostsRegistered 12/27/2011 I can't stand the smell. EWWW. I had a neighbor from India who looked like Selma Hayek. She smeared Vasoline all over her face every time she took a shower, then afterward, used a warm, wet washcloth to remove it. She look 15 yrs younger than her actual age. Genetics? Probably. But she never used anything but Vaz as did her mom and other female relatives/friends from home and they all swore by it. danni rose1335372267.0972552 PostsRegistered 5/14/2011 many of our grandmothers used the natural, raw ingredients on their face, hands, skin and never had the problems of what we're seeing today. i wouldn't have a problem with putting olive oil on my skin ... actually preferring the extra virgin. just use a light touch. why mix it with other ingredients and chemicals first, rather than using it in its raw state? arrianna1335373026.8075036 PostsRegistered 10/20/2010 On 4/25/2012 katkitty said: It's in many products but I wouldn't just use straight up evoo & smear it on myself as a moisturizer. I had the same experience with EVOO. sundrops1335378007.61439 PostsRegistered 3/11/2012 DHC puts some kind of olive oil in so many of their products. When I tried a few items several years ago, I broke out so badly and my pores got clogged up. Spent quite a bit of money on facials to get my skin cleared up. Never again! I would love to try argan or maracuja oil, but I'm too afraid. luv-n-life1335378767.86310 PostsRegistered 4/25/2012 I wonder if it gets rid of wrinkles. Still trying to find the cure for that one! I don't and would never use oils on my skin. It just sits there all greasy and what good does that do. StellaDiva1335379472.981062 PostsRegistered 10/15/2011 I thought there were particulates in regular olive oil and that's why you shouldn't put on your face. The stuff from DHC is filtered. I have used squalene oil which is purified from olives and it is nice in the winter. navy04122981335382038.7871763 PostsRegistered 10/19/2008only my friends On 4/25/2012 StellaDiva said: I thought there were particulates in regular olive oil and that's why you shouldn't put on your face. They just said really good for everyones skin that it was full of antioxidents. divvykimmy1335382544.643710 PostsRegistered 9/20/2008 I've been thinking it wouldn't be long until olive oil was the new argan oil - it is full of interesting phytochemicals and antioxidants. I use it to remove make up - I take a small palm full and massage it into my face, rub it off with a paper towel and then wash my face with my usual cleanser -works great! Different people have different noses, to be sure, but I don't think it smells bad unless it's getting a little old. I keep mine in the fridge because it's hot here, and it smells a little greenish, but not strong or bad. MinnieOne1335549018.903196 PostsRegistered 3/18/2010 This gives me the smoothest hands: Slather on the olive oil, put on rubber gloves and then do your dishes and any cleaning & scouring work with really hot water. Also good for peeling or brittle nails. Cheap & easy beauty treatment. Grangie1335550200.867629 PostsRegistered 10/20/2006 Fillers and surgery! That's what works! Breky1335552547.7272028 PostsRegistered 6/29/2008Connecticut Shoreline Christina Carlino from Philosophy used to recommend that everyone take a spoonful of olive oil daily to help with skin hydration. She said that it was the best thing you can do for your skin. Pats Sophia Loren has said many times that the only thing she would ever put on her skin is olive oil. Extra Virgin, of course. c_la_vee1335554673.5431599 PostsRegistered 9/2/2009 I wouldn't mind it but would have to use it very lightly as I don't think my skin would absorb much of it. What I don't want is a greasy shower floor.
