No, I'm not buying the TSV. I know it's the outdated version. I do want to buy my daughter the newer IPad for her birthday though. What would you recommend for memory? I know my daughter loves apps so I was thinking of going with the 32GB. Any comments or suggestions please? Thank you.

I would buy the largest gb possible- since you can't add anything to apple products this will make it last longer since computers, tablets and tech change so fast.

Lucky daughter- go on line to Apple and it will walk you thru things- also you will have to decide if you just wifi or 3g also

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing. Buy the most I can. I am sure we will just go with the wi-fi. No need for the 3g.

My daughter is going to be 17 and is a great girl. She deserves it. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

You have iCloud for storage. If you want to maximize your use, get the iPad with wireless and 4G.

Is ICloud an online storage thing?

Definitly at least 32g with 4g. You need the 4g for when you are places that dont have free wifi.

I would buy , not only with the ipad but with ALL electronics , the MOST you can afford. The thing with the ipad , is , you CANNOT add memory. You will have to delete apps or music or such in order to free up space. I have the 1st ipad , got it when it came out. I purchased the 64gb and have not regreted it for a min. I still have not filled it. My phone , thats a different story. LOL . Especially with a teen and the videos and apps , in this case - bigger IS better ! Good luck and enjoy !

Yes you can store there

Personally I wouldn't spend the extra on more storage I delete my magazines when read (you can retrieve them if you need to from the publisher). I have a 16g and it is fine for me

, I dont keep any music there just on my iphone/pod. You cant download any movies,

http://www.apple.com/icloud/ to give you the basics.

Please review the AppleCare+ "insurance" as well when buying it. If she drops it, etc., (as long as its not stolen,) you can get 2 replacements at $49 each. If you end up with an expensive model, its worth it (imo) for peace of mind. Also, add it into your home insurance if possible. Teens tend to 'lose' and misplace and drop things, so be prepared. If she has done a good job with her cell phone, you should be ok. But think about those things. If you get the new model, consider that you might be holding onto it for at least two years.

(I sold my old ipad2 and got the new generation ipad 4G, and I have to say... I liked my ipad2 3Gbetter. The new one has had problems with glitches and a yellow toned screens. After a couple of exchanges, its ok, but its not as 'AMAZING' (especially if you aren't taking advantage of the 4G) as I expected. The (new) dictation feature has been useful. If you only want wifi, consider the ipad2, and she can get a new one for college next year and you can keep the ipad2. Its totally up to you of course. But the ipad2 is great- I just had to say that. I had a 32 ipad2, and got the 64 ipad3 because I store all my music and docs on it. The battery doesn't heat up as much either on my old ipad. One thing that encouraged me to sell the ipad2 was that I hadn't gotten any sort of insurance on it if I dropped it, etc., and that made me nervous.)
