Any good jello recipes?

Started 1333921610.64 in Recipe Swap | Last reply 1333938843.323 by LilBitMissty

I was cleaning out my pantry and found 15 or so packages. What can I make other than plain old jello or jello with fruit? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Put a can of evaporated (not condensed) milk in the fridge to chill. When it's really cold, whisk it till frothy then pour freshly made hot jello in the milk while you whisk it to get mousse.

I like lemon best, but any flavor works just fine.

OK, I know this sounds gross, but it tastes great.

1 small pkg jello

1 small Cool Whip

1 1/2 tubs cottage cheese

drained fruit, if desired.

Stir cool whip into cottage cheese. Add jello. Stir together well.

If I make this with orange jello, I'll add a small can of mandarin oranges that I've let drain in fridge overnight.

I've also made this with strawberry jello and use fresh strawberries.

pepes mom...gross??? OH NONONONO my DM made that for years and it was the BEST!! She took longer steps though..she would use a can of pineapple and drain the juice. She then would use the LARGE package of Lime jello..OR Orange jello. She would make the jello according to box direction then use the juice as part of the water. She would put it in the fridge til it started to "setup" then she added rest the ingredients and gently mixed it together. Also she added chopped nuts...SOOOOO good!

Just made this yesterday for the first time, it is great & no worry about the calories or sugar!! VERY EASY!!

Jelled Ricotta Pudding
(Makes 4 servings, recipe shared by Janet Davis and tested by Kalyn.)

Ingredients:
1 pkg sugar-free Jello, any flavor that appeals to you
(this recipe is for 4-serving size package, double it for larger box of Jello.)
1 cup boiling water
2/3 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup cold water

Instructions:

Put ricotta cheese into bowl and stir with fork or whisk until it's slightly softened. Have four glass dishes (slightly over 1/2 cup each) ready on counter to pour the hot Jello mixture into.

Put powdered Jello from package into large glass measuring cup, pour in boiling water and whisk for 1-2 minutes, until all Jello is dissolved in the water. Stir in ricotta, then cold water and mix together. Pour into glass bowls and place in refrigerator to set. I waited about 2 hours until the mixture was partly firm, then covered it with cling wrap.

Serve cold, from individual dishes.

Here is another salad that is different and very good as well...............Cool

Coca Cola SALAD

6 oz. pkg. cherry jello (or 2 small boxes)

1 can crushed pineapple

1 c. chopped nuts

1 can sweet Bing Cherries

8 oz. pkg. cream cheese

2 sm. bottles of Coke cola ( or 12 oz can, cold)

Drain juice from cherries and pineapple. Pour in gelatin and microwave for 5 minutes, stir until dissolved. Add Coke. Chill until thickened. Cut cream cheese into small cubes (or chips). Add cream cheese and cherries (that have been halved), pineapple and nuts to partially set gelatin. Pour into a mold, or 9x13 pan. Chill until firm. We always served with a dollop of mayo on top, and this made for a more savory side salad....

Hi...This is so interesting! Just yesterday, I remembered, (and was craving), something my neighbor made using sliced pineapple, covered with lime Jello. I just can't remember if it was frozen or in the refrigerator to set up. I think it was the freezer. Might anyone know? She poured the Jello over the pineapple in the can! All of these recipes sound wonderful!

Thank You, DebbieDD!

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

I apologize...I asked for and did not offer a recipe...{#emotions_dlg.wub}

Thank you!! I think this is the recipe I have been looking for over the past few years. I will make it this week and let you know. I will be using tea biscuits instead of the pretzels, but I think your measurements of the jello and cream cheese are what I was looking for. Thanks again!

Pineapple Jello In A Can

1 (20 oz. can) sliced pineapple, drained (save juice)

1 (3 oz. box) strawberry, raspberry, black cherry OR lime Jello

1 Cup boiling water

1 Cup pineapple juice from the pineapple (Add enough water to make 1 cup, if needed)

Put Jello in bowl and add boiling water, stir until dissolved. Open pineapple can and drain off juice, leave pineapple slices in can. Add the 1 cup of juice to mixture and mix well. Pour Jello mixture in can over pineapple. (You can make 2 small Pyrex bowls with leftover Jello or use to make 2 cans of pineapple Jello.) Refrigerate until firm, usually about 5 hrs. or overnight. Turn can of pineapple slices with Jello over serving dish. Open bottom of can and push pineapple/Jello through. (At Christmas it is very colorful to use a can of strawberry Jello and a can of lime Jello.)
