Yankee Candle

Speaking of the TSV, does anyone know why Yankee Candle is so expensive? The candles are now $28.00! I have bought several Yankee candles but in my opinion they are no better than the Bathy and Body Works candles (that go on sale for $10.00 each) or even the Walmart or Target candles which smell wonderful for under $8.00.

I tend to just go for the tarts that they sell at Yankee Candle. If you sign up for their emails they usually send you a coupon a few times a year that you can get them for $1 each (org. 1.99). They just had a coupon where you can buy one candle, get one free, $10 off of $25 and so on. I am addicted to their tarts, but I do enjoy Bath and Body works candles as well.. I usually buy their wallflowers on sale. I agree with you about how expense their candles are because that is one of the reasons why I stopped purchasing them from Yankee Candle.

i have used Yankee candles for as long as i can remember,(and for every season) (can you tell i love candles) but they are just not the same lately. the fragrance used to last forever, but now nothing. it's sad how things change.

Life is too short to fret the small stuff… Let’s all live in a kinder, gentler world!

They ALWAYS have sales and coupons so when I buy, it is never for full price. You can sign up for their e-mails and they will e-mail you coupons. They have really good deals also at the end of the season and that is when I stock up. Also, their website offers $5 flat rate shipping if you don't meet the minimum purchase for free shipping.

This too shall pass.

Love Yankee Candle. I stock up during the after Christmas sale and their sale in the summer. Candles 50% off.

They also do a lot of BOGO and I just received a coupon for 15.00 when you spend 45.00.

Was burning Garden Sweet Pea last night. :)

Have you ever tried the candles from Celebrating Home? They are a direct sales party plan business, but you can order online. Their candles are made from either soy or palm wax and they burn much cleaner and longer. The prices are great too, plus they ship anywhere in the continental US. Here is a link in case you want to check them out www.celebratinghome.com/sites/marthap

Will check them out. I've tried PartyLite, but still preferred Yankee.

Off to browse!

Circle E candles as well as Pure Integrity Candles smell much better than Yankee and their scents are fabulous-the candles burn very clean, and Yankee is no contest to these two brands.I used to use nothing but Yankee for years, but have since discovered these two brands of candles and they are phenomenal!!!!!!!!!

Oh cool! Have to check that out. I did check out the other posters website, way too expensive. I really don't like those eh hem "home parties" because they are way overpriced in my opinion. Thanks though for the link...they did have cute items, just priced too high.

Brunette,I hope you enjoy them. They really are great candle companies, you cant go wrong with either one of them although I believe Pure Integrity's shipping is less, but they both have great scents that are not overwhelming but they are strong and last throughout the candle.......Enjoy!!!!

Yankee Candle always has a big sale twice a year when the tarts are $1.00. The sales are Easter and Labor Day. I stock up then.

Circle E - bird of paradise

Trapp - orange vanilla

Archipelago Botanical - plantation (Steinmart is the only place I can find this scent and it is wonderful)

Have found that paying more for good candles is worth it; be wary of cheap ones that can have lead in their wicks...I even found this in one of my Aromatique Christmas candles....was not happy! The reason the candles cost more is they are scented with essential oils.....a good scented candle should fragrance the room without even lighting it....of course lighting it will intensify and throw the scent....due to DH'S asthma I have had to use mostly flameless candles (love them!) but still rely on my three favorites listed above when I have company and want the house to really smell fantastic.

Hi! Thanks for your input. I did purchase a Yankee Candle, I think it was Sun and Sand, and it did even permeated the room. I couldn't smell anything and that is with the candle lit. Now, don't get me wrong they do have a lot of other great smelling scents, but I expect to get a room full of scent when I spend $28.00 for a candle. Of course they do stand behind their candles and they did let me exchange it for another one. I will say they do have good customer service! :)

Yankee candles and most other B&M brands give me a scratchy feeling in my throat and nose. I like them unlit! That's when they smell pretty.

I love PartyLite candles and get them on Ebay. Great prices and discontinued scents.

I love candles. My first post was about candles.

I think I've had that scent and I couldn't smell it either. I got it at a great price, so I just used it as a decorative candle in a holder I have.
