What could it be??

I was just looking through my Dining Room hutch, looking through the drawers to throw things away and came across something I bought at least 20 years ago.

I looks like a miniature crock pot with 4 holes in the lid. It holds exactly 2 cups of water. It has an electric cord. There was a tiny speck of some waxy pink residue in the bottom, which I wiped off and it had a floral scent.

What is it??? TIA {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Potpourri.

You add a little water, put the potpourri in, plug it in and the scent comes into the room through the holes.

I had a friend who had one.

Second thought... maybe it can also be used for those floating scented candles they used to have.

Weren't they called "tarte" candles or something like that?

Or you just let them melt into a puddle to scent your room?

You may also be able to melt wax tarts in it.

Or pour in liquid potpourri. They used to sell it in craft stores.

Thanks for the info. I looked underneath and saw a Walgreen's sticker and it was $5.00. Now, I also remember seeing a cellophane bag of some dried grass, which I threw out because I thought my kids were smoking funny stuff. That was also about 20 years ago.

I'll see if I can find some liquid potpourri in Publix, or as my husband suggested, try putting some lemon extract in water.

Thanks again - Smile{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

I went to Publix and got two pkgs. of wax melts. I put a couple of them in a foil muffin cup into the little potpourri pot and my entire house (up and down and all around) has the aroma of "Island Breeze". I LOVE it. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}
