bunkster1322016722.883781 PostsRegistered 4/20/2010 mine have loved the potstickers....we called them Chinese ravioli at first but they can steam in the microwave for 2 minutes (4 small ones per package) and come with a dipping sauce. I've used them as a quick snack or light lunch. They don't seem too spicy and with the pork, they are filling. Good luck... rarejan1322017575.8573570 PostsRegistered 5/14/2011Western New York I've bought from Schwan's for years and tried a lot of their items. There's really nothing I haven't liked. They have really good ice cream and related items. Love their lemon ice and gold 'n nugget bars. Their appetizer type items are good...not a bad one in the bunch really. Back when I ate meat, I tried a lot of their meat items...all good. Their seasonal items are usually the best...cheesecake bites are offered now and they are delish. If you really want to indulge yourself, try one of their pies like key lime...decadent. They are a bit more expensive than the grocery store, but then I consider their quality to be a bit better. When I was working, the convenience was great. The kids will love the pizza and the appetizer type items. An item I get every time is cream cheese wontons, love them and maybe the kids will too. Have fun mixing it up and trying different things! Last edited on 11/22/2011 JDW1741322050904.637298 PostsRegistered 2/17/2010 We buy from Schwans only occasionally. The only thing I've never liked was their frozen mixed fruit. It's always been bitter and crunchy, even when fully thawed. Tried their Shepherds Pie and while it was good, it was very soupy and not what I expected. If you're a fan of Summer Sausage, by all means get their version. It's totally outstanding and the best I've ever tasted. Likewise their ice cream. You won't find any better anywhere. Our only real gripe is their pricing. IMO, a bit steep. When my DH was still working I used to buy from them because it was convenient for me when I was cooking for myself BUT they are calorie laden foods and they are pricey. However you can't beat the convenience.I always liked their soups and pot pies. Brabls1322062484.51314740 PostsRegistered 4/27/2007 My aunt bought from Schwans. The salt, fat & calories took away the delish for me. mallemo1322083140.187918 PostsRegistered 7/1/2007Minnesota They have many good items. The Shredded Steak Taquitos are very good and the Potstickers are also. They have excellent Pecan Caramel Rolls and Waffles. The Haddock Sticks are the best. My husband likes the Beef Pot Pies. They are a little spendy but the quality is good. clhs681322102452.29193 PostsRegistered 9/14/2008 I use to buy from them and most of their items are very good. If you get something you don't like just give it to the driver and they will give you credit for it. The reason I quit ordering as others have stated is that it is getting very expensive and now they add a delivery fee on top of the already high priced items. MissyW11322108271.10326262 PostsRegistered 3/4/2007USA They are too expensive and I can find similar products in my local stores. It's good if you can't get to the store or have no car. They also except food stamps. Their pizza's are made from Red Baron. The drivers make only like 5% of the sale and it's commision based only. They work so hard, to get a small paycheck. I use to buy from them...I really liked their frozen pizzas..strangely enough...but they had many other items I really liked...can't afford them any longer... I've ordered from Schwan's for more than 20 years. I've always found their food to be of high quality and am of the belief that you get what you pay for. As someone said above, their summer sausage is very good and much better than I've found elsewhere. I like that most of their items are individually packaged and many are vacuum packed. I've ran across a few things that I don't care for, but that happens at the grocery store too. I like the convenience of having them stop once a month at my home. I've never been charged a delivery fee. It's also nice that you can order on-line, although I've never used that option. The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right place but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment. Anonymous Idacat1322250604.5434650 PostsRegistered 7/26/2005Idaho !!!! I've shopped with Schwan's forever and what I have bougfht the most of has changed through the years. When I had kids it was the bagel dogs,,,now I am not even sure they make them. Here is what I have bought this month, some are new items and they have all been excellent, some are old standards. Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Baby Bakers,Grilled Onions and Mushrooms (I often use these as an ingredient). I am never without these, ever. Breakfast Bites, both blueberry and apple. These are, IMO, a bit spendy but delish. They are small biscuits with fruit filling, they only have the two flavors, I hope they add more. Very easy to heat in the microwave and come out well that way. I don't know how many they count as a "serving" but I will usually eat 3 or 4 with my tea on a weekend morning as a treat. But,,,these are truly EVIL good and if left to my own devices I could eat the whole bag.. Tortilla encrusted Tilapia Parfried Catfish filets Mini pot roasts (LiveSmart and heat and heat) Pot Pie Stuffed Chicken Breasts (LiveSmart and heat and eat) Wine Country entrees for two, both Beef Merlot and Sweet Bourbon Glazed Chicken are great. This is a line I wish they would add to since they are two decent servings and taste like something you'd find in a fine restaurant. It's a little spendy, and I don't know if I'd be serving much Schwan's on a moderate income to a family of four, but for the two of us it is not expensive, especially for things that are convenient but still have the feel of home cooking. A couple of weeks ago my order came to $58; when I sat down and figured it out, that bought 12 entree servings, a bag of Roasted Sweet Potatoes, and a bag of Evil Breakfast Bites. Not really all that bad considering the quality and convenience. depglass1322267583.96319249 PostsRegistered 11/14/2006 I like their ice cream and their frozen pizza is the only one I will eat. AuntG1322326762.5733859 PostsRegistered 1/31/2009Wisconsin Here's a list of our family favorites. I'm willing to pay more for these items because we like them more than store varieties. I limit myself to about $30 per order so it doesn't break the budget. To me, it's the delivery person who matters with Schwans. I almost quit because we had a big turnover in Sales Reps for awhile but now the young lady who stops is very dependable. My kids love the Cinnamon Apple Frech Toast Sticks, we love the oriental boneless wings, the potstickers, and the chicken is very good. I also like the Bagel Dogs bonnielu1322923642.654339 PostsRegistered 10/6/2004Western Maryland My Schwanns has disappeared totally. I think the guy who delivers is no longer with him and the new guy came around a few times and was expressionless and not all that friendly. So I guess my Schwann days are over. I did like a potato combo that they discontinued and I think their key lime pie is one of the best, but beyond that I really do not wish to chase them down to come again, nor do I want someone who is not friendly selling me things. mima1322924087.5912442 PostsRegistered 10/19/2004KS On 11/23/2011 morning lover said: When my DH was still working I used to buy from them because it was convenient for me when I was cooking for myself BUT they are calorie laden foods and they are pricey. I eat Schwans food several times a week and easily stay within my Weight Watcher points and have stayed at goal for 8 months now. It is like anything, they have good choices and bad choices. We love most of the food. The mini roasts are to die for and love the sweet potatoe bites (not exact name) are wonderful. Love the fishsticks, Haddock Squares, and chicken strips too. We also occasionally get the encrusted tilapia, garlic shrimp and the salmon, but those are rather expensive. The boneless pork chops are great too! I actually love it all! I had called and requested service and this guy showed up and took my order. I waited over two weeks, he never showed up, and finally phoned their headquarters. I was told this guy had quit and they were searching for a replacement. I don't see a Schwanns truck delivering in my area anymore. I've heard people say, Schwanns was a hit or miss for them. Wished I could had given a better reply on this subject. mature, dry, sensitive, makeup optional skin. keep it healthy with NIA24, MD Forte, physical sunscreen and Fancl cleanser. mima1322931213.04712442 PostsRegistered 10/19/2004KS Most of my Schwans guys have been really nice. I made really good friends with one. I was really sad to see Roy move away. I have a nice one now, but he's a little quiet. I did have a really pushy one and he didn't last long. I now tell new ones up front that I don't like pushy salesmen and I won't buy from them if they are. But then they are scared to tell me about specials. LOL BTW, sign up online and they will periodically send you coupons for $10 off $100 purchase. I just got 2 in the mail a few days ago. I think they prey on the elderly with the convience of auto delivery. They sell them more food than they'll ever eat. I have about 6 friends that have the same problem with their older parents. My parents had a full freezer full of stuff they probably wouldn't eat even if they were actually cooking. Expensive stuff too. I have no respect for them. Those old folks bought that food by choice they were not "sold it". And for many elderly home delivery is not a convenience, it can be a necessity. Not to mention that Schwans beats Meals on Wheels and probably costs less. I bought a lot of things from Schwans years ago when I was raising my children as a busy professional. I guess they preyed on me then too. And, delivery and convenience isn't the only thing you get with Schwans, I buy products that are very good and that I cannot buy in any grocery store. jmn281322940357.033190 PostsRegistered 1/2/2008 i thought meals on wheels was free to those in need. qmis1322942257.13340 PostsRegistered 9/25/2010 Meals on Wheels is only free to those who qualify, otherwise a small fee is paid. About Schwans, I very rarely buy from them, but their apple pie is to die for!!!
