Do Clarks run true to size?

Started 1270618680.523 in TSV Talk | Last reply 1271963052.29 by MoonShadow

Want to order today's Clarks TSV but am not sure about the sizing.  Normally I wear a size 6 but last year I ordered a size 6 Clarks sandal from JCP and they were too big and had to be returned.  I'm not sure if they all run large or if it was just that particular style.  Thanks.

I have mixed reviews about Clark's. I usually take a size 7, but a couple ran too small. With no half sizes, I would not order up to a 8 since my foot is narrow. So, I always try to judge how it looks on the models foot.

I wish I could give you a definite answer, but don't want to mislead you.

Maybe others can help you more.

It's hit or miss with the different styles; I agree with Baby Huey.  I wear a narrow, though, and those are difficult to find in Clarks.  I find the length to be pretty true but I've got some narrows that are perfectly narrow and some not so much.  Guess this doesn't help much, but I would size up if I wore a half size but not size up if you're a whole size.

I ordered the last TSV in my regular size. I also looked at some sandals I bought at the Clarks store in the past, and they are my regular size. I went up a size in some clogs I bought. Last night Steve, the Clarks representative, and Patti said to order your regular size.

I bought 2 pairs of Clark's sandals as a TSV about 8 years ago and I would never do it again.  I am a size 8 and I could get neither of the TSV sandals onto my foot.  The seemed more like size 6s they were so small.

I have other Clark's shoes I have bought elsewhere in my size.  I think QVC gets Clark's shoes "made especially for them" if you get my drift.  No thanks!

Darn it - I missed Steve and Patty together????  They are totally my favorite combo ever on QVC.  They make me laugh.

If Clarks can't keep their sizes consistent, that's not a good thing.  I don't care for the TSV, but if they have a show later, I'll watch.

Thanks for all the sizing info everyone!  Every opinion helps.  I made up my mind what size I should get and when I tried to place my order (9:30am) the size and color I wanted were sold out already!!!  As usual I must say.  I don't understand why they don't stock more in the colors they know are going to be popular.  Don't want to waitlist because I don't want a pair that has been through the return process.  Their loss my gain $$$.  Didn't really need them anyways.  Smile  Thanks again, Phansee

I wear a true size 6 and have never had any problems with the size with any of my Clarks.  I am ordering today in the navy so I hope I do not eat my words.

I find they run small and narrow.  The Clarks store only had about 3 styles in their so called wide width, and I couldn't even get my foot into it.

I tried on several Clarks yesterday and thought they ran a bit large.

That's why I hesitate to order shoes online, there are so many different experiences.

If I order, I'll go Zappos where I don't have to pay to send them back.

But mostly I just buy shoes I can try on the spot.

I wear a size 8 M and just got 2 pair at Bon Ton last Saturday and size 8 M was perfect, got a pair of sandals in the newer bendable style, so comfy. I think    with any shoe you almost have to try on unless you stick to the same style and know how it runs. My sandals are a slip on, got a navy and  a bronze/tan and love them.

I have to repost, just got 2 more pair of Clarks on sale at Boscov, buy one get one for $1 so couldn't pass that up and I  tried on the 8 M which I always wear and had to go down to a 7 1/2 M, perfect in these sandals, all are sandals so yes, have to try them on I guess.

No..that is why I don't order them on QVC.  Sometimes I wear a 10 and sometimes I wear and 11.  It is too much of a hassle and money to buy two sizes and send one back.

You got every kind of answer here!  I wear an 8 usually, and my foot is a little wide but not enough to wear a wide shoe.  I order Clarks in a size 8 and am always happy.  I'm new to Clarks and have 4 pair.

Go to Penneys where they are most often on sale.

I find that my usual size (7 1/2) generally works for Clarks, but sometimes their shoes run a little small.

I've worn Clarks for years and always buy my regular size 9.  Have never had to size up or down.

I was going to say that one of the most consistently true sizes in shoes, IMHO, is Clark.  Another is Born.  After that, it's catch as catch-can.   I thought Sam Eldeman was pretty good on sizing but this year he, too, has proven that wrong.

I've bought a pair of Clarks unstructured shoes in my regular size, but they were too long.  Had to return for 1/2 size smaller and they fit perfectly.{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}
