Spa-In-A-Box TSV

A few years ago, I ordered this product from another channel. I was so excited on the day it arrived. As my husband assembled it, I put on my bathing suit, eager to relax in my new hot tub. My husband informed me that I should come back in a day or so. The initial water temp in the tub was about 65 degrees and the temperature of the spa would only rise about 1 degree per hour. In addition, the noise coming from the spa was a little loud. The bottom cushion left about 2 or 3 inches between me and our paver patio. I ended up returning it. Packing it back up wasn't easy. Just wanted to share my experience.

The spa in a box TSV is a great concept but it is sooooo loud that it gave me a headache just listening to the presentation!! ... I cannot imagine sitting in it and being relaxed ... the noise would be a total turnoff!!

It is loud. I was worried that my neighbor's might get annoyed as it was running. I was also thinking about my electricity bill. Back it went.

I used to have one of the big above ground party ones, loud it was when the jets were on. I spent more time with just the pump (for just pushing the water around) it was much more soothing and relaxing. Used it more like a "hot tub" than a "jacuzzi".

I noticed they kept comparing the cost to a "normal blow dryer", hmmm what is a normal one?

I read up on the reviews from more than one site, seems the negatives were all due to the pump going out quickly and being expensive to keep replacing. Hopefully this model is a new improved one and those that purchase it will be able to enjoy it for a long time.

I would question it's lifespan also. I've heard they burn out pretty quick

Yeah, I always got a pretty bad vibe from this item when I saw it on hsn years ago. That's a lot of money to spend for something that just doesn't seem durable enough to last or to operate well. I'd put that chunk of money toward a real spa.

We have a 6 or 8 person hot tub that's wonderfully made semi-locally and it's always been very nice. Sure, it cost a few times more than this put-together one, but I have no worries that it will probably outlast us. :)

I agree. The sound alone made me say no. I don't know why they have it on and try speaking over the noise ... gives me a headache trying to listen. If they are trying to portray relaxation, I'm not getting that message.

I watched the presentation this afternoon when Antoinella was hosting. You're right about the noise. Both she and the vendor seemed to be shouting during the entire presentation. I'd like to know how many they have sold so far today. I haven't heard any of the hosts mention that. Also, I wonder if people realize that price doesn't include the chemicals and other items you need -- I think the vendor referred to it as a "start-up kit." You can order the "start-up kit" from the Q I heard her say, or at a pool company or outdoor store. It seems very expensive to me.

I wouldn't order this if it was free. I can't imagine anybody packing this thing up for a return. No way!

I'd rather have a sauna. I need to research.

$900 can buy a nice multi-year gym/YMCA membership where hot-tubs/pools are one of the amenities. Don't have to clean it. Don't have to maintain it. Don't have to bring it in during the winter. They do all the work with no fuss, no muss...and alot of gyms are open 24/7. I know this isn't for everyone, but it might be a good alternative.

I know I saw that same model that is on Shawn's show (it's 11:43p.m. est) in the tub with that guy on an earlier show ( about 2:00?) this afternoon!!! They must be as wrinkled as a prune right now! LOL! At first I thought it was a clip that they were showing but Shawn has her feet in one and there's the same model and guy behind her!

I really don't think they need to show models in the tub.

I don't think I'd feel comfortable with others in the tub!!!

Do you think there are lots of people that just sit around in a hot tub drinking wine? I can't imagine wasting that much time. Guess I'm more of a productive person rather than a loungerSmile

Mary, I bought an infared sauna through Costco online...I love it! Yes, you might want to do the research, it is beneficial for many reasons.

I remember the complaints posted when it sold on hsn. Most .were how uncomfortable it was to sit in. Others ranged from the pump breaking down and how expensive the start-up and chemicals were. It didn't interest me in the least.
