After he renamed his child and sued for custody because the mother went to college in NY, I like him even less, and I didn't like him very much to begin with.

I will be interested in the opinion after the OP and the other critics ski the same course with the same conditions and do a better job. Until then, it is nothing but armchair quarterbacking, judgmentalism, and gossip.

I wish Bodie would take your advice.

I'm not an Olympic skier...but HE is. All the Olympian skiers have to ski in the same lousy conditions...so he should stop complaining, and do what he supposedly loves to do.
