This is an oldie but goody - easy and quick. Made it tonight.

1 pound large shrimp
1 T oil
1 T minced fresh ginger
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 T catsup
1 T each of cider vinegar, soy sauce, sugar
1/2 to 1 t crushed red peppers
1/2 t toasted sesame oil
Slice green onion for garnish

Heat wok over high heat. Add oil. When hot stir fry shrimp until opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.

Add garlic and ginger to pan and stir fry about 30 seconds. Add catsup, vinegar, soy sauce, sugar and crushed red pepper. Stir until boiling. Add shrimp back and sesame oil. Mix well.

Mound rice on a platter. Top with shrimp mixture. Sprinkle with green onion.

Serves 4

I cook extra rice when I make this so I can make fried rice a couple of days later. I use Basmati brown rice.

I buy and stock up on the red argintinian shrimp at TJ's for my guy...this sounds like a recipe for his shrimp. Thanks.

This does sound good. I am thinking it could also be served over pasta?

I am not sure you would have enough ""sauce"" for pasta. Maybe add a little chicken broth to it?
