I bought my first jar of mincemeat the other day. I have never tasted anything made

with mincemeat before and had no idea what to expect. I bought Cross&Blackwell and

one taste out of the jar sold me! Now what to do with this? I decided to "wing it" with

what I had on hand. This is the result.

Combine together:

1 lg. softened cream cheese

1 cup mincedmeat

1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

On lightly floured surface, place

1 sheet puff pastry dough

Lay the pastry dough with short side toward you.

Spread filling evenly over dough leaving about 1/2 inch at top and

bottom. You will have filling left over. If you put on too much it will

be hard to keep together.

I "glued" the bottom seam with warm water to help hold the pastry closed.

Slice and place on parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 F till browned. Mine took about 17-18 minutes.

Remove to cooling rack.

Makes 1 dozen

My family loved these. If you try them will you let me know what you

think?

Sounds very good but I've never made anything but pies out of it. I doctor the canned product with chopped Apple and a little liquor. You were very inventive.
