i just made a turkey breast in the crockpot using a recipe from this board...but, of course, i did one little change:
2 cans whole berry cranberry sauce (original recipe called for one can)
1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix
cooked on low from 8:00 a.m. til 7:00 p.m.
juicy and delicious! mixed the drippings w/one jar of turkey gray.
marinade:
1 qt. buttermilk
1/4 c. soy sauce
3 tblsp. kosher salt
3 tblsp. sugar
1 tblsp. Bell's Poultry Seasoning
1 tblsp. whole black peppercorns
1/2 large yellow onion (sliced in large pieces)
1 whole bulb garlic (sectioned and peeled - smash a few)
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Put turkey breast in an oven cooking bag and pour marinade over the turkey - breast side down. Squeeze air out of bag and tie closed in a secure knot. Place bag w/turkey in a glass or metal bowl in frige overnite. Rinse turkey and pat dry before putting in crockpot (again, breast side down).
