I'm looking for remedies for an extremely itchy scalp that I seem to get at this time every year. It lasts all winter. It is not dandruff. Does anyone have this very annoying problem??

Do you have a humidifier?

I use Scalpicin. I buy it at the drugstore. Its a liquid hydrocortisone that you apply whereever it itches. Works great!

I have the same problem! I started putting hair & scalp oil on & it helps. Shea Terra Organics is where I get it. It's great for a moistening oil for my arms & legs too. I will check out the scalpacin also.

At night, just before bed, rub a little Gold Bond unscented lotion into your scalp. Wash as usual in the morning.

Humidifier?

Perhaps use a shampoo for dry scalp in the winter?

Scalpicin is the best. However, I changed shampoos to Wen and now I have no issues.

I often use Sea Breeze (or the WalMart generic version) - it is an astringent meant to clean the face, but I like how it helps my itchy scalp.

I've been spraying Apple Cider Vinegar (Bonners) onto my scalp 30 minutes before I wash it. It seems to help a bit. I also find Jason's Tea Trea Shampoo to help somewhat. I've had itchy scalp for years. It is beyond annoying.

I've also used prescriptions like Olux foam in my scalp prior to washing.
