Why are they cancelling all the Bethlehem lights shows?

Just got a couple of emails that a bunch of BL shows are cancelled. What's with that?

Maybe they are selling their inventory too quickly and need to spread out their shows a bit?

I purchased a set & candles & a set of lights. Neither worked the second year.

I have been very happy with my past Bethlehem Christmas light purchases. No problems or issues at all. Perhaps the company is having problems?

Can't answer that question directly but I'll tell you about another company that is not to be named.

Quality issues out of China are more than you can imagine.

Also, I understand that China offered people who had businesses along the "coast" tax incentives to move or add additional facilities well inland and many took advantage of that. It took months to start up this facility and quality issues were very high but now have subsided. In this given example, it took months for training.

I don't know why they're cancelling, but I won't miss them... They've relied on them too exclusively and for too many years as an excuse for 'decorating' and it's gotten old. Then too, there have reportedly been issues with QC. It appears YET another Q vendor bites the dust. Wonder how long before there are none left other those offering fake diamonds, computers, polyester clothing or beauty products?

They're preparing for Easter shows?

Done with Christmas already.

You are very fortunate. I wish I could say the same.

My tragic relationship started about 7 years ago when I bought their light strands to decorate a live tree. The lights were lovely burgundy, but every year I had to replace strands. Then I tried some of their battery operated snow men and such. Those things ate through batteries faster then a pageant kid can inhale a pixie stick!

Then the worst. I bought a lighted 6.5 ft tree. This "awesome" tree lasted all of a season and a half. 3 days before it's 2nd Christmas 2 sections of lights went out. Nothing I did could get them to relight. I had to go to the drugstore and pick up some light strands and shoved them into the tree to make it through the rest of the holiday.

The day after New Year's I took my frustration out on the tree and tossed it on the curb for garbage pickup.

I wouldn't want someone to pay me to put anything Bethlehem Lights back into my house after the miserable luck I have had with them.

Their inventory probably didn't make it in. Last year I bought 2 candles. The ones with the floating glitter and both died after a couple days. I have window candles and a wreath that have been going strong for well over five years.

I found their products to have skimpy lights. I would like to see QVC bring in different/better quality than BL.

I love my family, which includes two cats.

The Q's own brand Kringle Express is taking over. They did with battery operated candles.

I'm just tired of the phony stories and lies. That guy Jeff Harris who was supposedly the owner of the BL company that does commercial lighting is now a vendor on HSN. And I believed that stupid story they used to tell. Now they have the guy Chad Johnson who used to sell toys representing BL now. How ridiculous!! I don't believe anything they say anymore.

Well, I'm very surprised. BL usually carries the QVC Christmas decorating shows right up until the last minute and I do mean the last minute. I think they were selling the window candles last year right up until the last 3 days.

I wonder what happened................

What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own.

Let's see. My window candles have never worked consistently.I bought two outdoor light strands for my garland, which worked for a week, so maybe Qvc is finally getting the message that we need a new light company for Christmas items?

I have to say I've never had a problem with BL. I have two wreaths (spring/summer and winter), which I alternate and the lights last at least 6 months. Bought a tree several years ago that could switch between white lights and colored, operated with a remote, and never had a problem. Gave it to my daughter a couple years ago when I went to a smaller, all white tree (from an online vendor), and she says the BL tree still looks great with no problem with the lights.

Sorry if some of you got duds. I for one will be sorry to see them go.

According to their web site, warranty for the prelit trees. I don't remember hearing in the sales info that the tree outlast the lights.

Three-year/3000-hour Lighting Warranty
Ten-year Tree Warranty

BL /Kuerig/ toys reps all work for same company and some related. (T.0. Epps.)..Kuerig rep married to toy rep husband-the Epps.

I went through two outdoor garlands in two years. There was no warranty for them. The small outdoor trees are gone, too. I haven't bought anything else from BL since.

I purchased outdoor garlands (several) for my very large wrap around front porch and wreaths for the posts on the porch, etc. about 8 years ago. These are all in excellent condition and have stood the test of time. They still work and look brand new!...but...this is when Bethlehem lights was selling their commerical products on the Q. I think they now manufacture products for Q only because I ordered two items a year ago, kept them (dumb me!) and they weren't close to the same quality! I don't order from them anymore. I can't take the risk. I also ordered, in advance, trees for gifts from Kringle express that are an upcoming TSV..there was white glue and paint all over the bottom holder, the tree looked very cheap! also, the lights didn't work on mine! I returned this. The gifts I sent, everyone returned to due lights not working, glue/white plaster showing all over the bottom. The ornaments looked worse than Dollar Tree! and were all falling off! BEWARE! The pics looked beautiful.

All my battery light sets, 2 small outdoor trees, wreath and garlands are still working - some from I think 5 years ago. You need to use really good batteries and they will last months. I kept a few of my light sets indoors last year after having them up for over 40 days and they were still working in April.

I purchased a BL wreath last year. The thing wouldn't die! I mean I would forget to shut it off for days (it was at the end of the driveway) and it would still be lit. Either I had indestructable batteries...or BL makes pretty durable products. It wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing wreath I've ever seen, but it was great for outdoor decor!

Purchased a 9' prelit Balsam Fir in Sept. 2012. Used the tree for Christmas 2012 and it was beautiful. Put it up for Christmas 2013 and 2 strands of lights went out sometime after I got the tree decorated. Left it up anyway and after Christmas, I contacted BL customer service. There is a 5 year warranty on the tree, so they are going to repair or replace it, however, the rep I'm dealing with via email is not the brightest bulb. He won't answer my question about the return procedure, even after repeated emails asking for specifics. He keeps telling me the warranty department will call in a few weeks "or sooner". Meanwhile, my undecorated tree is STILL up in my living room as is my frustration level. Would really have to consider whether to do business with them again. Their customer service is anything but "service"!
