Has Anyone Experienced Adverse Reactions to Perricone Products?

Started 1358188263.48 in Perricone MD | Last reply 1362852830.347 by Kitty Galore

I purchased the recent Vitamin C TSV as my first Dr. Perricone products. The Serum and the Vitamin C cream seem fine, but as soon as I apply the Face Finishing Moisturizer, my entire face and neck start stinging. It doesn't last to long, but I can't help but think this may not be the way my skin should react to this particular product. Has anyone experienced a similar reaction?

I am close to 50 years old w/combination skin, and redness over cheeks.

Thank you!

I have sensitive skin and one of the reasons I love Dr.P Skincare is b/c I've never had a bad reaction to anything from his line.

I've learned that anytime I get a new kit (or a few new products): I only add 1 newbie @ a time.Maybe you should stop using it for a week or so and if you want, try again(after giving your skin a chance to get used to the other new additions) ?

I tried formula 15 and my face instantly started to sting. I almost ordered the vit c tsv, but didn't once I saw fragrance in the ingredients list. I've heard great things about his products, but afraid to spend money on them given my first experience.

I have rosacea and sensitive skin and have used his products without any problems. I know any Vit. C product causes my skin to tingle for a minute when I first apply it. Maybe it was that and not the moisturizer? Try the moisturizer by itself (don't apply the serum first) and see if it still does it.

Carla727 - the only Perricone product I've tried that was too potent for my sensitive skin has been Formula 15.

Did you do the recommended skin compatibility test before using full face & neck? What other products (if any) are you using in your AM & PM skin care routine?

Face Finishing Moisturizer sometimes causes my face to feel a bit tingly. It comes the closest of any Perricone product to stinging me. I'm not sure why. It does contain some type of exfoliant.

I tried a few things from Perricone over the years and never thought they were good enough (for me) to stick with. For whatever reason I did try the Vitamin C TSV and I am really pleased with it. But the moisturizer does sting a tiny bit sometimes.

There was a mask in the line a few years back. It was a two part process and it was a peel-off mask. For some reason I broke out on my forehead like a teenager. And crazily enough, I tried it a few weeks later because I thought that could not possibly be the reason for the breakout and sure enough, happened again. And I mean like a teenager - angry red zits all over my forehead. They did clear up but that is the only really adverse action I ever had to Perricone. They don't seem to make that mask any longer.

I have narrowed down the culprit for 2 deep cyst-like pimples on the side of my face: Nutritive Cleanser.-Go figure! I have been able to tolerate the CP, FFM, and the HPER. The jury is still out if the Serum Prep is also a culprit for these very unsighly and painful things, they are hot yet respond positively to washing my face w/Skinn pm cleanser and applying Metrogel.

I had a severe reaction to last March's TSV.

I hate the daily moisturizer--it seems to be in every TSV. I find it thick and smelly. I got white bumps all over my face from using the Neroupeptide cream. The Cold plasma made my eyes sting and the eye cream makes the skin peel. The no foundation foundation is useless for covering anything. I gave up on this OVER priced line.

The only product in the Perriconce line I liked was the Nutritive cleanser.

I have roscea and find most of his products make it worse and my face itches. The only product I can use it the Cold Plasma for face. But it's just too expensive.

Went to derm after last outbreak and Perricone was not the culprit-was havng a bacterial flare w/rosacea. Now that I've been on antibiotics for 2 weeks, I can use Perricone, not only w/no problems, but skin is clear and glowing. Hyperpigmentation is also lightening.

Why is there fragrance in the Perricone products ? I mean why would possibly be the reason for adding a scent it is not needed too many of us have sensitive skin and fragrance is a no no.

Someone at Sephora pointed out to me that Retin-A can cause rosacea and asked if I was using it. Sure enough, I'd been using prescription Retin-A for adult acne (mild) for many years. I stopped and starting using Perricone products with a much milder form of retinol and it cleared up. I have some slight redness now (not rosacea) but the cold plasma and Acyl-Glut is helping it and it seems to be gettina little better every day.

I wondered the same thing and a sales clerk hypothesized (she said she didn't know for sure) that it is to off-set some of the strong fragrances of the natural products, like fish oil. Makes sense. Cold plasma used to bother me and now I think it's just fine. But for those with sensitive skin maybe the Perricone hypoallergenic line would be better?

I didnt realize there was a separate hypoallergenic line ?? To me though I would want it to be fragrance free, hypoallergenic doesn't always mean no fragrance, that is what I have a problem with. Will have to think about trying the line.
