Would a Collared Shirt Fit Under a Whisper Knit Tank?

I bought a Whisper Knit cardigan in Brick Red with gold buttons. I am looking at the matching tank. If you have one of these tanks; could a long sleeve, button-down shirt, be worn under it?In other words, can you use it as a vest, or is it too fitted?

Yes, that's what I do. I have the brick every needle rib tank in brick red and I wear it with the "kate" button down collared shirt. This tank is a match to the cardigan you mentioned. I have it too. The whisper knits have a lot of stretch. It's not a problem

I often do that also but I have a couple WK V-neck tanks that I sized up on to make it work better.
