Recipe Needed for Red Sauce for Meatloaf

Does anyone have a recipe for the red (in color) sauce that is used on top of meatloaf? I have had it served in some restaurants and would love to try it at home. Not the brown gravey type, and not the catsup, brown sugar type. I realize I am doing a terrible job of describing what I want, but I can't think of any other way. TIA

I'm not sure what you are asking for, but try googling it for recipes.

I use:

1 T. worchestershire

1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce

3 T. tomato paste

1 T. ketchup

I use Nance's chili sauce right out of the jar.

It's red!

Sounds like a pasta or tomato sauce

One more vote for chili sauce. I like Heinz.

Hunt's makes a good meatloaf seasoning. It's in a can located next to the tomato products. It's a red sauce. I put half in the meat and the other half on top.

I just put 1/4 C or so of ketchup in a bowl, add a little worcestershire sauce, a dash or two of tabasco, and a generous spoonful or two of brown sugar. Stir to mix and spread on top of meatloaf before baking. Very easy, very good.

I know what you mean...it's more of a mild red, maybe with diced onions. If I were trying to replicate that, I would saute diced onions in EVOO, then add 1 can of tomatoes, chopped, and not too much other seasonings and lay on top of the meatloaf.
