Recipe for broccoli slaw or broccoli salad?

A couple of months ago (I think) there was a recipe for a broccoli slaw or broccoli salad and I wrote it down but I cannot find it now. It had vinegar and hot pepper flakes in it, does anyone remember this recipe. I do not think it had mayonnaise it in though I could be wrong. Most broccoli salads have mayo in them and this is why I really wanted to try this particular one. I would love to write it down again and add it to my recipe binder. TIA!

THANK YOU Diamondgirly! I think that is it. I don't remember it having ramen noodles in it but that is definitely it. I think I will just leave those out though! LOL!

Re: Recipe for broccoli slaw or broccoli salad?

Here's one I have in my files......

Started 06/28/2014 at 9:28 PM in Recipe Swap | Last reply 07/03/2014 at 6:15 PM by DiAnne I have been looking for a new way to use broccoli slaw (I do not care for coleslaw dressing). I have tried a couple that I did not care for. Found this one on the Food Network supplied by Aaron McCargo. Think it is worth sharing.

1 cup shredded carrots
2 cups shredded broccoli slaw
1 red jalapeno, seeded and minced
1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 lime, zested and juiced
1/2 t kosher salt
2 T sugar
1/2 t red pepper flakes
1/2 t cracked black pepper
2 T extra virgin olive oil

In a serving bowl combine carrots, broccoli slaw, jalapeno and onion.
In a small saucepan add vinegar, lime zest, lime juice, salt, sugar, red pepper flakes and black pepper. Bring to a light boil over low heat. Remove from heat and allow to cool for few minutes. Add the olive oil to the vinegar mixture and pour over the vegetables. Toss to coat. Refrigerate until serving.
4-6 servings.
I really enjoyed this. I purchased the jalapeno but tasted it and it a really hot one so I did not use it. It is up to your tolerance for heat. DiAnne's note.
