I just went to bread my cutlets to fry up later and discovered I don't have any eggs....usually I dredge in flour, then egg, then dredge in the breadcrumbs....can I use half and half instead of the egg?

Sure.....you can also just (believe it or not) use droplets of water on them after the flour, and before the breadcrumbs.  The egg mixture just creates a more "coated" texture to the meat; the water makes it a more "sauteed" texture, if that makes sense.  LOL!

Enjoy!

I don't know about using 1/2 & 1/2, but I've heard about using mayonnaise when coating chicken.  I think I'd try that, and it sure sounds good!  Hope this helped!

Yes, it does......I thought so, but I wasn't sure if they'd be too soggy...I like them crispy, but I guess it's better than nothing.

Thanks to both of you.

Maybe bake them instead?  I think I would.

I baked them in a high oven and they came out perfect.

Thanks ladies.

I often use a little mayo on chicken to stick crumbs on.  I use the low -fat mayo and it works fine.  I have also used OJ and lemon juice, crumbs don't stick as well, but flavor is good.

Equal parts mayo and dijon mustard works.  Add some thyme and it's good, but bake this one in oven.

A nice change be fresh mushrooms..lobster, shrimp or crab for a real treat all three and sun dried tomatoes...I make the omelet in a non stick pan then as it cooks I top it off with the tomatoes, spinach or anything else some cheese and finish it under the broiler until golden brown and puffy...i serve it at the table by sliding it from the pan onto a serving plate and everyone can enjoy what they want...sorry wrong thread...{#emotions_dlg.blush}
