What hot and cold items would you serve with subs for Christmas Lunch?

With kids from out of town and little kids too-we decided to have some subs from our local wonderful sandwich shop. What nice sides would you serve to make it more of a meal? It will be noon-1 o'clock-ish. What sounds good for dessert? HELP.please-not my area of expertiseSmiley Happy

Are these hot subs or cold subs? If they are cold subs, maybe some hot sides like macaroni & cheese. If hot subs like meatball subs maybe a nice salad with Italian dressing.

Mac & Cheese
Fresh Veggies & Dip
Cole Slaw
Pasta Salad
Pickles & Olives
Potato Chips

Cookies

If you are a Costco member, they have an awesome chocolate layer cake and a bakery cookie variety pack (choc. chip, Macadamia & white choc. chip, and oatmeal raisin) that's very good and could save you some work.

Would soup go good with the subs you are having? That would make a nice meal. Kids usually like cupcakes.

Subs are a complete meal in my opinion. Serve with chips and a drink and you are good to go. There is enough food at Christmas, no need to overdo at lunch.

Hot soup (a simmering pot of herbed tomato soup could be sipped from cups), potato chips, raw veggies and dip, maybe potato salad, casual hand-held desserts like cookies and brownies.
