Mrs. Prendable Apples are NOT on the List!!!!!

People seem to be confused, or just have read the complete notice put out by QVC, regarding their Mrs. Prendable Apples.

It clearly states that Mrs. Prendable is NOT on the list.

I'll say it again, Mrs. Prendable is NOT on the list.

I bought a package, and I ate one apple, and gave the rest to my co-workers as a Christmas treat.

Guess what?

NOBODY GOT SICK!!!!!

Why?

Because,

MRS. PRENDABLE'S APPLES ARE NOT ON THE LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caution is still needed because the tainted ingredient has not been identified. Therefore, it cannot be known that all of Mrs. P's ingredients are safe. It is not possible at this time to determine which brands are safe and which are not because the bad ingredient is still a mystery.

It was stated that it can take seventy days before anyone falls ill.

The CDC hasn't made a list of ""safe"" apples.

They only have a list of the ones they know for sure right now are identified as bad. But there's no list of safe ones. It's too soon.

I wouldn't play Russian Roulette with caramel apples.

Read the complete notice put out by the CDC which states to avoid commercially produced pre-packaged caramel coated apples. Mrs. Prindables has not been cleared by the CDC. Mrs. Prindables claims that their apples have not been identified as tainted with listeria. Until the CDC identifies the source of the contamination whether it is the fruit, caramel or the toppings, it is very unwise to assume that any of these apples are 100% in the clear. I would listen to the CDC not the QVC.

2 different local newscasts said to avoid commercially prepared caramel apples.

If I were the OP I'd call my co-workers and make sure they know there is still a possibility they could get sick. 70 days is a lengthy period of time.

I tossed the batch I received Thursday and was given a refund.

Why would anyone take a chance?
