I have a recipe for vodka pasta, and it simply calls for "cream". Is this half and half, whipping cream, heavy cream, table cream? I'm so confused!

The first time I make a recipe calling for cream, I use heavy (whipping) cream.
The next time, I will lighten it by using half and half. That's not always successful.

I use heavy cream. If I'm making a dish like that, I'm already going out on a limb with calories. Besides, I find that a little goes a long way.
I've been using heavy cream in my coffee for the last couple of years. I use about a half tablespoon for a cup of coffee. When I use milk, I need at least four times more and fat free milk isn't even worth it.

Heavy cream. I have found that even though it has more calories and fat, you use less because the flavor is more intense.
