Thinking of leaving hubby and running away with my Crock Pot...

I'm in love with my crock pot {#emotions_dlg.wub} and I'm not apologizing for it.

When I come home from a long, tough day and smell my dinner cooking I could just hug the stupid thing!

I love it!

I feel so pampered when I use it.. isn't that the silliest thing you've ever heard? {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Btw I've been there. I felt the same way about Mr. Dyson a few years ago. {#emotions_dlg.tt1} It was a match made in heaven, for someone who used to hate vacuuming. Told everyone about it too till they were sick of me.

house cat, I was going to leave my dear DH when he burned my Le Creuset dutch oven.

I mean he burned it. I love him with everything inside of me, but I love that pot!

I so feel your love for your crock pot!

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

Re: Thinking of leaving hubby and running away with my Crock Pot...

Today I made a pot roast recipe that was E X C E L L E N T !

I'm trying to remember where I got the recipe.

It called for slicing an onion and spreading it on the bottom of the pot.

Seasoning the roast, rolling it in flour and patting the flour in well.

Lay the roast on top of the onions.

Add some whole carrots and potatoes if desired. I added baby Yukon gold potatoes.

On top of all that, pour in this mixture:

1 cup water (I think I used 2 c. - I have a big pot and one didn't seem like enough.)

1 package brown gravy mix

1 package ranch dressing mix

1 package Italian dressing mix (I didn't have any so I didn't use it.)

Cook on low for 8 hours... I think mine was in for more than 9 hours because I couldn't get home in time. It was delicious, but of course, with the packaged mixes it was a bit salty. If you're watching your sodium, this probably isn't the recipe for you.

Otherwise, it was one of the best I've ever made.
