Really, KitchenAid? Disposable bowl liners? Good grief.

I would think if you don't have the time and inclination to wash the mixer bowl, you might not be baking at all. Disposable bowls seem incredibly wasteful.

Who said they were disposable?

They said each one was good for 4-6 uses.

I thought it was a bit odd and they looked so cheap.

I think it is a great idea! I would buy them to use for things that need to be put in the fridge, for taking a batch of cookie dough to someone, if I am prepping for a big party and have a lot of things to make in the mixer. I think it is a wonderful idea and can't wait until they can be bought separately. I hope they make them for the 6qt! I'd love to bake three loaves of bread and let them rise in these!

I don't own the mixer but they have crockpot liners so why not liners for this? I love the crockpot liners, especially in my RV.

Be kind. You never know what someone else is going through.

That is a great time saving idea especially for someone like me who does bake a lot and needs to mix a lot of things. With these I wouldn't have to stop and keep cleaning mixing bowls and can just keep on baking. Someone who doesn't bake much and is only making one thing wouldn't benefit by these.

I would like to read about them. Do you have the item number because I haven't been able to find them with a search? Thank you.

I can only find them with the mixer--so needless to say I'm not getting any soon! LOL!!!

I think it would be a good idea, but not disposable. I think silicone might be good. Something with a lip that would fit around the edge of the bowl.

It would be useful if you're whipping egg whites for your batter. I have a few cake recipes that call for the whipped egg whites to be folded into the batter.

They come with this mixer that was presented last night.

It says the liners are microwavable and dishwasher safe; I don't see where they're disposable. It sounds like a good idea, since extra bowls for the KA are so darned expensive!

And my metal bowl cannot go in the microwave.

The KitchenAid lady said that each bowl was good to use 4-6 times... with gentle treatment, maybe a bit more.

Absolutely. When I saw the mixer presented, I wanted those bowls and I'll buy them as soon as they sell them separately for my mixer. I tend to use my mixer for lots of things once I get started with it, and not having to stop to wash my big bowl every time - priceless!

I thought they would be handy for cookie baking, when you are making alot of batters. one could chill in that bowl, while you mixing another. Or for frosting batches, I mix 2 batches at a time. I am going to look for them at a local store wher they sometimes have coupons. BJR.

I only wish you would make the bowl liners for the Professional model. Many times I make cookies or something that needs a time in the fridge. The bowl liners makes me wish I had kept my 30 year old mixer instead of giving it to my son.

You still have to wash the beater so how can that save any time?

Can you purchase them separately?

I think it's a great idea. When I start holiday cooking, being able to cover and store to chill doughs is great. They may say 4-8 uses, but I would hand was them when I use them and bet I could get more uses out of them. The big question is: "Can I buy just the liners? Where? When? And do they have them for 4 1/2 quart mixers? I don't need a new mixer, but I would be interested in liners for me and my daughter, who does have the 5 quart mixer."

It does have me curious. One of my KA stand mixers is a 22 year old gloss cinnamon K45. From back when Williams Sonoma would get together with small appliance and other companies like KA & Chantal, LeCreuset to make color coordinated items just for WS)? Knowing that color was MY color, DH picked up the mixer on clearance for me. At the time, it also came with the copper bowl insert for the 4.5 qt bowl and a 3 qt bowl.

Couple of years ago, while we were at the KA Experience store in Ohio, I asked if they made a glass bowl to fit my mixer. Was told that the glass 5 qt would fit. She even brought me downstairs to the KA 'museum' to try it out on the older 4.5 qt machines. Worked fine. I love it.

While there, they also had a ½ price sale on the new flex-edge beaters. So, since I have an extra beater, I would LOVE to have the plastic inserts if they would fit my machine. I could find all kinds of uses for them.

Lordy, I hope I never get so lazy that I don't want to take two minutes to wash out a bowl.

I think this is a great idea but where do you find them????? Starting in Nov I start making all my dough mixes that I can freeze for cookie dough. I have two kitchenAid mixers the pro and the standard. I would love the extra bowls! Then I would not have to stop and wash the bowl for each and every receipe. For me, this would be a great product.{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}
