Pioneer Woman ... Cowboy Josh Got Hitched!

Started 1371511187.58 in Kitchen & Food Talk | Last reply 1371666115.39 by Angie321

Those of you who follow Pioneer Woman likely know who Cowboy Josh is, he got married this past weekend and PW put on what sounds like a large reception at their lodge. She said she would post some wedding photos soon.

You can find the ranch on Google maps. You can see aerial views of the Lodgehouse were the TV kitchen is and the big deck on the side of the building.

Here's a link to the Google satellite picture of the Lodgehouse/Kitchen

The Drummonds are certainly a longstanding venerable Oklahoma ranching family.

You'll never have significance in this life if it's all about you.

Google the Drummonds, they certainly aren't liked by people in their area, like to throw their weight around, as for being a "Pioneer woman" not too many multi-million dollar pioneers. She married into money, you know those those kids aren't working that ranch, only for the cameras, they don't even know how to correctly and safely ride a horse. Having a cooking show is one thing but the rest is so phony.

I cannot go a day without getting on her her website, plus I follow her on Twitter.

Found her through her first book after reading an excerpt of it at the hairdresser in some magazine several years ago. Left the hair salon and went straight out and got the book!!

What a blessing it was to find her and her special way of living life and watch the love she and her family have for each other and all their friends.

Congrats Cowboy Josh!!!!!!!

I googled and the result: String them up! They are horrid!! What a rotten family they get speeding tickets and try to get out of them no matter how fast they are going. For shame, just one degree under murder, rape and pillage.

Good night. Didn't Reese Witherspoon even try to use her name for getting out of a dwi? The Drummond men just like to drive very fast.

Sorry do not see anything wrong with this hard working family that probably puts food on lots of other family tables due to jobs and other things!

Those horses on the ranch are another source of controversy. A quote from a Tulsa World article:

The Drummond Ranch alone keeps 3,400 horses, receiving an average of $1.30 per head, per day.

That adds up to $1.6 million a year.

Taxpayer dollars. You can read the entire article at:

My question is more is that a good thing to spend government money on more than whether the Drummonds should take advantage of the program.

Thanks Sooner, I read the article and the government has always offered $$ in some form or fashion to ranchers and farmers and it is a controversy. Even my employers who only own just under 100 acres each get tax incentives and exemptions due to having their ranches. Not enough to give up their "day jobs" but like most people if the government offers something than there is usually someone who will take it.

I perfer you do what you can on your own and only afford to keep the number of livestock you can afford. If the government is planning absolutely to buy or use the horses that might make a difference in the giving of our tax dollars for the upkeep . Thanks again for the research.

Glad you enjoyed it. One of MANY interesting issues about what we should spend money on, and since these horses are being featured like they belong to this ranch, it even begs the question more I think. I just think it is a little deceptive. . . no big deal with me, but I was surprised when someone brought this to my attention. I assume the working ranch horses are theirs, but the others are the mustangs.

Love watching her cook, I wonder if she is able to eat any of her own dishes being that she's not out roping steer all day

Give the Pioneer Woman's Perfect Pie Crust a try. It's really good.
