Yonanas better than Vitamix (Frozen Yogurt/Ice Cream)?

Can the Vitamix do what Yonanas does with frozen fruit? I have had my Vitamix for 10 years, but embarassingly have not tried frozen yogurt yet. Does Yonanas provide a better result when it comes to ice cream/frozen yogurt? Thanks for any input.

I don't see how it could. If you already have the vitamix, just try it out. I'm not sure about the yogurt recipe, but the one I use is just 2 parts frozen fruit, 1 part milk, and then whatever sweetener you want (I use brown sugar). You can go fancier with more ingredients, but that recipe works every time and is delicious.

I use my Vitamix mainly for ice cream, sorbet and smoothies. I love it!

Just got a notice that my back-ordered turquoise colored Vitamix has been shipped. I am so excited. Cannot wait to start using it. The Yonanas machine did not look very sturdy in the demos. The stuff swirling out of the bottom into the cup was kinda gross looking. Reminded me of something quite rude - disturbing visual. I .... just .... can't. {#emotions_dlg.blush}

Thank you, ladies. I'll try the Vitamix first. Big Time, you will love your Vitamix. It is awesome! With summer fast approaching, you will have so many fresh fruits to go crazy with. The frozen fruit works wonders, too. Good luck!

I do not have the Vitamix, but just got the Yonanas, and we love it. It is just amazing to me how it can make a frozen banana so smooth and creamy. Would love the Vitamix but I have a great blender and for me could not justify the price. I do not think I would use the Vitamix to make soup, but the soup does look good.

The thing about Yonanas (which is sturdy enough) is that you use fruit and fruit only - no added sugar, milk, or anything else, so it's great if you're on a diet or lactose intolerant. I've used all kinds of fruit, and everyone I've ever served some to has gone out and purchased a machine of their own - they couldn't beleive the "ice cream" they were eating is just fruit.

Do you have to use a liquid like milk to make frozen yogurt or ice cream with the Vitamix?

That turquoise is so pretty. I ordered a white one last weekend and anxious to get it. Bought same a couple of years ago and had second thoughts and returned it. This time I'm really going to get into using it. I thought the yonanna machines looked very plasticy and maybe wouldn't hold up well. Of course Vitamix is much more expensive, but also does a lot more. (I had the same thought you did about the other machine.)

Daysdee--I love the Vitamix! You will love it, too. You get so many more ideas online and on QVC for recipes these days, too, which makes it great. Enjoy!
