The Vitamix is a blender, not a mixer. It in no way compares to the TS. It is way better for what it does, while the TS is a great starting point for a blender, but reviews show that mixing cookie dough in it is a no go and a pain to clean..

Use your spoon for the cookie dough, as any heavy doughs would break the plastic mixer blade and should be used with a full sized mixer. For the bread dough, use your bread maker or your spoon. The plastic paddle probably wouldn't handle the bread dough any better if at all.

I have never tried making dough in my Vitamix. But then I don't need to because I have a bread maker.

I've mixed up cake batter in my VM but, even though the blade is STEEL, I don't think a really thick batter would work.

Trouble rides a fast horse....
