Rocco DiSpirito new cooking show "Now Eat This!"

Started 1350234829.293 in Kitchen & Food Talk | Last reply 1350275428.343 by DiAnne

It's called "Now Eat This" with Rocco Dispirito. It seems to be based on his books where he reworks recipes and makes them healthy. Is anyone aware he has a 30 minute cooking show? I just kind of stumbled upon it last week. Comes on in my area on Sundays, 7:30am EST on a local Fox station. I looked it up and I have it set to record (DVR). I hadn't heard anything about it before finding it but so far I'm liking the show.

Poor but Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi PBJ-Thanks for the heads up. I used to really look forward to watching him whenever he was on Food Network shows. I'll check it out. Whenever I see his books, though, I always wonder if they guy that writes those books, "Eat THIS, NOT THAT", is annoyed? They seem like such similar titles!

Over 40. Dark hair. Fair, with mild-moderate Rosacea. Finicky skin. Did I mention--Gorgeous? ;)

I believe his latest (out in Sept. 2012) is Italian mamas recipes. Looks good. Check all of his books out on Amazon.com.

I used to love his show, The Restaurant (one of the first food reality shows). I cracked up when he fired one of his employees and she called him a fake Italian b------.{#emotions_dlg.scared} Yikes.

I should clarify-maybe this show isn't new, but it was new to me. I just heard of it the first time last week.

Glmama, I've wondered the same thing since the titles are so similar. I'm sure it's been brought up.

Does anyone know if his other show is coming back, the one where he hosts a dinner with famous celebrities and chefs compete by cooking the guests dinner? Can't recall name-will Google it. I really liked that show.

I think I read he has a food truck too.

Poor but Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really liked that show. I cannot remember the name either, but I watched all the episodes. It seems like it's been a while. I hope it comes back too.

that was one of the best reality shows ever. certainly didn't show him in a very good light. he was too busy flirting with female customers, doing book signings and press junkets to be in the kitchen and oversee his new restaurant. his mama was sweet and a workhorse. i often wondered if he learned something and "grew up" after that show.

I take pleasure in my 'transformations'. I look quiet and consistent, but few know how many women there are in me.

Thanks for posting! I searched it out on my DVR and now have it set. Locally here, they are showing in 9:00am Saturday mornings on "My Network TV" channel.

Here is the schedule listing from his Facebook page. It is in select markets (on various days/times) and appears it just started up.

Hubby watches all the cooking shows and he never had a very high opinion of Rocco, but we have his cookware from when he was on QVC and it's my absolute favorite. It's very well made. I wish they still carried some of the open stock pieces. The 2 saucepans and the pasta pot have stainless steel interiors and will probably last a lifetime. The two frying pans are showing signs of wear but they have the non stick interior. I would put it up against higher priced stuff any day. And he is easy on the eyes.

I bought one of his cookbooks and was underwhelmed by the flavors.

He was on the Rachael Ray show and I was excited about his Italian recipes. But I think I will take a wait & see attitude. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Rocco seems to want to be more of a celebrity than a chef since his failed reality show about a restaurant named after him but owned / financed by others.

I liked his mother but grew to disrespect him -- by his actions.

To me, he appears to want to present himself as -- new age == different == younger == hipper than other cook book authors.

I don't think so. I admire many other cook book authors. To me, his uniqueness is in his own mind.
