watch & bracelet review w/pics (good news and bad)

The Good News: Love the Browns!

/>

The new ceramic/stainless steel watch (J337649) in brown is beautiful. Had two links removed from the small to get a tight enough fit so the face doesn't move at all on my wrist (in a watch, I want it practically glued to my skin so I don't have to shake it around to be able to catch the face so I can read the time.) And just tonight, UPS delivered the smoky cuff (J288921), which is knock-down gorgeous and the perfect companion for the watch (though I would probably not wear them on the same wrist. Just me.)

The Bad: the gorgeous cuff came damaged. There is a small pit/hole/damaged ding on the end/underside of each smoky quartz stone. Can't be seen while wearing the bracelet, but the holes are definitely big enough to be a serious concern. Example (one of them) below:

<img src=

Doggone it! I love this cuff!! Weighty, fantastic fit...and I adore browns!! So I did an online chat with CS and, since all sizes of this cuff are currently sold out, I asked if I kept it what discount would be offered. Sadly, a less than impressive 10%. (Yes. It was on clearance and the price was fair...if it wasn't damaged. But it is damaged. On both stones.)

I declined the discount, at this time, as I'm going to take the cuff in to my jeweler to see if he thinks the holes are stable or whether, with wear, they will turn into chips, splits or other nasty things. If he says its stable, I'll probably keep and take the $29.80 Q refund (which frankly doesn't cover my time and trouble to take it to my jeweler.) But...the cuff is so pretty. And the fit, magnificient. And, shoot, I really love it.

In the grand scheme of things, this is hardly a "real" problem...but it sure does take some of the joy out of receiving an otherwise lovely piece of wearable art.
