Several weeks ago, I posted a review about one of Judith's bracelets that I like a lot, but is a real hassle to put on. Like so many of her other link bracelets, if I order a small, it fits perfectly once it's on, but it can take more than 20 minutes for me to get it on, so I end up not wearing them as much as I would like to because I am so rushed in the morning. A fellow Ripkanista kindly suggested that I order a Bracelet Buddy to help me, which I did right away. Well, it only works when the link bracelet is generously sized. There is a clamp which you are supposed to fit onto the last link of the bracelet (the link that you attach the lobster claw to), but if the bracelet is small, the clamp falls off as soon as you pull the other end of the bracelet around to meet it. So of course I am returning it. But I sure am glad I ordered it because I suddenly thought about using the same principle as the buddy bracelet, but w/ a piece of string instead. This worked like a charm, & saved me $30.00. Here's how you do it girls: Take a piece of string that is about 7" long & thread it into the loop of the bracelet that is supposed to receive the lobster claw. Make the 2 ends of the string meet. Lay the bracelet over your wrist & grab the 2 ends of the string w/ the thumb & pointer finger of the hand that you are going to put the bracelet on. With your other hand, wrap the bracelet around your wrist until the lobster claw meets the link w/ the string. Hook it & remove the string. This really works!!! It took me 20 seconds to put on my most challenging bracelet - which used to take me a good 20 minutes.

I have had a couple, and the clamp on the original worked much better than the "fancy" golden one I got to replace it. Glad you came up with your own simple, ingenious solution, Glitter Puss. Lola Brava. I will try this as well. I can save even more time. I just put a piece of scotch tape on the bracelet and tape it to my wrist lift the other end of the bracelet up and hook it. Takes seconds to do. Works every time. Nancy Drew1355539590.0573253 PostsRegistered 10/6/2004Woodland Hills, Ca OMG! I just tried this with a bracelet that is very hard to do and it worked like a charm. Now can you figure out how to do an easier way for the tongue and clasp. Please don't put me in a timeout. BGDC1355545061.273334 PostsRegistered 12/22/2010 you need to take your string and go on shark tank and get Laurie Greiner to buy your idea. Then tell her that we need a jewelry box that is about 3 ft. x 2 ft.and 3 feet high to store our Ripka. Maybe Umm...$36.94? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It even works for my fishhook filigree pearl bracelet, which is the trickiest clasp I've ever had to do on my own. jarnold971355752185.13712 PostsRegistered 3/25/2010 I use an open paperclip - put one end in the bracelet and hold the other end between my thumb and finger while pulling the bracelet around - works like a charm. mima1355755958.38312419 PostsRegistered 10/19/2004KS On 12/14/2012 croemer said: On 12/14/2012 BGDC said: you need to take your string and go on shark tank and get Laurie Greiner to buy your idea. All things I have hanging around, and I have a couple bracelets I don't wear anymore. Thanks Ladies! Shopping_Qween1355761345.74107 PostsRegistered 12/24/2005Long Island, NY (for now...) Since I have no string lying around at the moment, I tried the tape method while my sister prefers the paper clip, and both worked beautifully. We had also jumped on the Bracelet Buddy bandwagon when it first came out, but found it a disappointing flop so back they went. Many thanks for these very helpful tips, ladies!
